the upgraded room was quite nice and clean but balcony outlook pretty dismal Whole complex in need of care and attention. No atmosphere and did not appear to have much ground or pool staff in general. We were very disappointed that a hotel of the mercure group was so obviously in need of general renovations. The gardens and in particular the pool areas were uninviting to say the least. The bar area of the back pool was in our opinion not even worth 2 stars and the front pool facing the beach was OK but pool chairs were impossible to use as were not able to be adjusted to sitting position at all. Only alternative was beach. Here, the lounges were in desperate need of upgrading looking very old and tired. Whole complex looked as if in need of care and attention.
Restaurant Tip : Donalds on the beach just a few minutes walk serves good food at reasonable prices.

On the beach near lively bars & restaurants. Some rooms could do with updating. We recently stayed here on two occasions. The first time we were very lucky to be upgraded to a family room which was excellent, the second time we had an older style twin room which could have done with a refurb.
However the location is excellent, right on the beach with a lovely pool & near the lively end of Sanur.
Do visit the spa - it looks nice. Also a lovely Italian restaurant nearby (near the Cat & Fiddle pub) with excellent food & very reasonable - called Sal E Pepe.

Friendly and hospitable. Beautiful grounds. Pretty beach. a/c didn't work in first room. Mercure Sanur is a beautiful property right on the beach. The gardens and thatched-roof buildings are quite beautiful. We were upgraded upon our arrival to a larger room, which was decorated very tastefully and had an in-room safe, which we find very helpful. However, we had problems with the a/c and so we were moved (after a lengthy attempt to repair it) to a suite, which was even more spacious and beautiful and was beachfront. We were very comfortable there and delighted with the service overall. The buffets meals are ok, if on the spendy side. I found the themes a little odd. I mean, why go to Bali to eat French or Mexican food? However, the food is nicely prepared and displayed. The entire hotel is very clean. We had a lovely, relaxing stay and would definitely recommend it to others.

Warm reception, pleasant staff, good location and good food. The spa was fully booked during our 1 night stay. We were pleasantly surprised during our most recent stay at Mercure Sanur. We have stayed here previously in April 2008. This visit was much more pleasant. The staff was much more friendly. Everyone greeted us with a smile and a kind word. The food was better this time as well. The room was clean and spacious. The Mercure is in a great location and we enjoyed a walk along the beach path that's right in front of the hotel. The hotel spa was fully booked, but the concierge made arrangements for us to go to another spa for a massage. So glad we gave the Mercure Sanur a second chance during this vacation.

the room was beautiful and the bathroom, liked the cold towel and iced tea they brought to you on arrival not the hotels fault but nothing to do at night so only good if you want a relaxing holiday.... the service was good, the staff were very polite and attentive, however as said above nothing to do at night but the tv was nice and big

Authentic style, good service, not too big, lovley pools and beach. A bit far away from shopping street My husband and I really enjoyed this hotel. It is in a traditional style, very quiet, lovely rooms, two pools, lovely gardens, great breakfast, good beach. If we stay in Sanur again we will probably come here again. It was also very clean and the beach was nice and clean. There are some lovely restaurants nearby which serve really fresh seafood.
Restaurant Tip : Some lovely seafood restaurants along the beach.

rooms in need of refurbishment. We stayed in the Mecure for 1 night and it was OK, the room was a bit old and a bit smelly with an older style TV with old polyester sheets. The pool was good and had a kids pool. There is a kids club but there is very little in there. The staff were great, very friendly and kind to the children.

Very good rooms, the best swimming pool, and best location at Sanur Beach Some minutes away from Sanur center, but there is FREE Shuttle that goes from Mercure to the center. Overall its the best hotel in Sanur.

- Massage service on the beach are great and cheap. < 20AUD for couple.
- the beach is not beautiful as expected. - This location is suitable for whom like peace and relax environment. Convenience to go coffer shops where is not far away there. Recommend for aged people but not for young because you will not have much of activity here except go around and enjoy food.

In Sanur, this is quite good value for money as the surroundings are nice and the hotel is right on the beach. However, the hotel isn't all perfect. Personally I felt the rooms were somewhat run-down and the mattresses need replacement.

Great gardens, good pools, good beach, good rooms. Staff is friendly, but ineffective at minor problem solving, restaurant is over-priced. The Mercure in Sanur is a very spacious place set amongst a temple and beautiful gardens, and along one of the best sections in Sanur beach. The rooms are functional and good sized. The pools are quite nice, and the grounds are the place's strongest asset. The staff tries to be helpful, but is, in general, not too well trained. The breakfast buffet is quite over-priced - but at least there are several nearby local restaurants that are good for a fraction of the cost. Overall, this is a 4-star physical plant, run like a two star. But at the current Agoda pricing, it's a fine value.

After the room change, we ended up in a bigger and more luxurious room (it still was not very clean though).
Restaurant Tip : Do eat at Mezzanine, a very nice Japanese restuarant, not the most cheap according to Balinese standards, but very good value for money. Good food, good atmosphere.

Mercure Resort Sanur is a great hotel, we have stayed there before and this time took 2 other couples back with us. They were all impressed with the hotel. Like the position on the beach, close to great restaurants and shops and we all enjoyed a few more activities on this side of Bali.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Seawalking - this can be organised through the tour desk at the Mercure and it is fantastic fun. Look into it you will love every minute and a great lunch is included after.
