Remote location
Large complex (if you are looking for intimate)
The Nikko Bali Resort & Spa is my choice for stays in Nusa Dua, Bali. This is a large and extensive resort hotel and spa facility located on a nice section of Nusa Dua beach. The open and expansive lobby looks out on a series of decorative pools that appear to empty into the ocean beyond (actually, what you can’t see from this perspective is the 15 storey cliff!). The hotel itself occupies several front buildings on top of a cliff, overlooking the gardens and ocean, and then a 15 story tower whose first floor is at the bottom of the cliff. Only the top of the tower is visible from lobby level, and you actually must cross a sky bride to the tower’s 15th floor lobby to go to a tower guest room or the pool, beach, club and spa facilities -- this is quite unique as the North side of the tower, which serves as an open hallway for the guest floors, faces the cliff. The elevators are located in the center of the tower and you enter them on each floor in an open air area with great views of the water from every floor.
I stayed in a Club Suite which was superb. A glass wall seperated the living room from the bedroom, and a flat screen TV sat in the middle of the wall, and can be rotated for viewing in either of the two rooms. The space is large and is connected by a terrace looking down on the beautiful pool facilities and the beach. The bathroom is large with both a tub and shower, toilet and bidet. The room also includes a guest 1/2 bathroom and a dining room table. There is also a full minibar and Internet access (you must pay for it, and this is one thing I don’t like – just include it in my rate!).
In terms of amenities, you really never need to leave the hotel if it’s water and relaxation that you’re looking for. The pool facilities are superb, including an artificial beach, water volleyball and basketball areas, hot tubs, lap areas, in-water bars, and a water slide. The beach is secluded and clean, the water a beautiful aqua-marine.
Hotel Feature Tip : Spend a few extra dollars and take advantage of the ultra-luxurious club experience

Beautiful Pools
Beautiful Hotel
too far from the city
expensive food
After the 2nights in the other hotel in Sanur area, this one is just too remote. BUT this one is just toooo beautiful. The design of the hotel is so good, i spend lots of time to walk around to take photos.
My deluxe Ocean View room is big, clean, comfort. But half of the ocean was blocked by the cliff tower infront of our building....
Next time i will save more money to try the cliff tower...
I don't know, next time i may not driving by myself if i choose this hotel again, it is just too far for me to get back the hotel.

Quietness
Big Area
Very good view, with is above a cliff
Must spend lots of time in the pools area, they are so great, one is man made sand beach!!!
Better buy some breakfast for the next morning if you didn't get the "with breakfast" package. It is kind of expensive.
We took almost 2hours to drive back from Tanah Lot.
My sea view room is just blocked 80% by the coner from the building while my friend's one was blocked 50% by the cliff tower....

Beautiful property, attentive staff, very comfortable room
Selection of food choices limited.
Bar permits smoking.
We loved our stay here. The property is beautiful. The pools are very nice and the beachfront is some of the best Bali has to offer. Perfect for couples or families. Our room was spacious and very clean. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was alright. Choose 'breakfast included' rates if possible, otherwise buffet charge is too steep. The bar/pool menu is unimaginative. Dinner at the beachfront restaurant is excellent, or choose to have an evening drink on the sofas watching the sunset. We were very satisfied with our stay - definitely one of the better hotels we've stayed and excellently price.
Restaurant Tip : The Bali Collection is nearby and has any number of restaurants that are good and not crowded. You can take the hotel shuttle to and from.

Very secluded with a private beach, Very large hotel and friendly staff.
Really far from Kuta and other hotels in Nusa Dua.
Nikko Bai Resort and Spa is located in the Nusa Dua area but it is really really secluded from the other resorts in the area. Basically once you are there, it is very quiet and peaceful and is good if you are looking for that.
Bad points would be that you need to take a 30 mins taxi ride to Kuta beach which costs about RP 100K one way. Next thing you need to take note of is that the room rates do not include breakfast so u will need to buy some food on your way back from your day tours if you booked any. Otherwise, breakfast at the hotel is pretty expensive.
Shopping Tip : You can take the free shuttle service to Bali Collections but the things sold there are expensive. From Bali Collections, it is easier to take a taxi to the Kuta beach area where you will have more choices and also food is much cheaper there.

Excellent position on the slope of the shore, beautiful sight at the ocean. \nA lot of green trees creating pleasant shadow.\nVery nice pools with water flowers at the main entrance.
Swimmimg in the ocean is quite unpleasant because of the dirt swimmimg regularly to the sand beach. The beach seem to work as a collector of the mud.
At the arrival the hotel made a very positive impression. First, the entrance gate. Then the road leading from the gate to the main entrance. The personnel at the entrance opening the door of the car, helping to pick up the baggage. \n\nAs we ordered a room for 3 persons (1 child) the room was already equipped namely for 3 persons, in contrast to many other hotels, as we were awaiting for the third bed and the third set of towels et c.\n\nThe service taking care of the children supplied us (me and my wife) a possibility to travel to the neighbour Java. Our son disliked the idea to leave the island and liked spending time at the children facilities. \n
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Ocean trip to see jumping dolphins (early in the morning)\nMonkey forest\nBird park

I think we made our trip superb because of the hotel also. Even though we booked our hotel through intenet we were very pleased that we got a chance to stay in abeautiful hotel. We have no complaints about anything and looking forward to visit Bali again and staying at the same hotel.

Well, i don't see anything i don't like it, ohh, just my suggestion if the hotel should have more dining/breafast places for guest.
I would said i love this place, really love it. Nothing much to said, beach, swimming pool, spa, all perfect for my vacation trip.
Restaurant Tip : For cople i would recommend to stay Garden Room, your dinner time should ordem them and have it in your room, stay at balcony, it all perfect and romantic ever.

Stunning location perched on a cliff, good beach, the building and grounds are beautiful (the open-air lobby is really spectacular), rooms are a little tired but immaculate and still beautiful, great spa, and a terrific value through agoda.
Abysmal and limited food options, which is a problem since the property is isolated. While staff were often excellent, there were several times where they just fell flat on their faces. For instance, I - on the beach no less! - had to track down a waiter to get an order in, and after an hour went to find food from the gift shop ( the only other place open and located 2 buildings and 15 floors away) because we were starving. And all that at noon on a Sunday. Also, there is a fair amount of construction going on, but it wasn't really much of a bother at all nor did it much detract from the resort.
The bottom line is I would have been very disappointed with the Nikko had I paid full price, but at the discounted rate I was thrilled. There were some really annoying shortcomings (really surprising for a hotel of its caliber), but overall we really enjoyed our time there and would gladly return.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Don't let the hotel's (relatively) isolated location turn you off. There are some free shuttles and taxis are inexpensive in Bali. And when all the sightseeing and shopping is done, you'll appreciate returning to the calm and beautiful location .

Good Service
Great location for Rest and Relaxation
Construction - This really upset me as my main aim was to relax form a stressfful work year and I arrive to find they are carrying out construction of a new poolside restaurant and renovating rooms!!! This ruined my holiday and I am quite angry about the incessant noise day and night. If it would do any good I would file a complaint with the Indonesian Tourisn board as there was no advice on this before booking
Absolutely the worst experience I have had from a hotel. Construction ruined my holiday and I feel I was decieved as there was no mention of this onn booking. Any moral hotel would close during refurbishment work and not have guests put up with noise, workmen and temporary facilities. Also 5 star is a Joke, Room furniture Old and manky , mould on the small couch. Breakfast way below average, they reall need an increased budget to raise the food quality.
Hotel Feature Tip : WAit till they have finished construction!!!

A more secluded location allowing quite retreat for full pleasure of enjoying Bali's natural beauty and exotic landscape. Located on and above a clift giving it a unique and special ambience.
Only one restaurant is available for lunch (located at the beach/pool side) none within the hotel itself.
This hotel is an excellent choice for people seeking a quiet retreat in Bali with one of the best service treats available (especially for Nikko Club room occupancy). Suitable for honeymooners and couples wanting a true romantic experience of Bali and enjoying the oceans view and warm sunshine with a feeling of being on a totally secluded island. Take the Nikko Club rooms and be pamperred at the Nikko club with a private pool and sun deck in almost complete pivacy. It is rather expensive though.

The oceanview room was amazing! and the food was great too
construction going on in the rest of the hotel and the suites were not sound proof
This was great value for your money for an oceanview room. The entire resort was AMAZING! Located in the 5 star area the location of the hotel was a bit out of the way, but then again that was the geography of Bali, unless if we chose to stay in Kuta. I can't get enough of the breakfast area of this place, the entire stay was amazing and great value for your money. And of course how can we forget about the spa villas. The only thing I wished was the rooms be a bit more sound proof, so that we don't hear next door when they raise their voice in the middle of the night. Then again the hotel had a more tropical theme to it where the walls are thin.
Restaurant Tip : The food in the hotel is roughly about the same price as in Jimbaran, after factoring in the taxi ride. Most restaurants if u negotiate with the restaurants in Jimbaran will arrange for a taxi ride back to your hotel.

Big hotel, mostly all rooms have amazing water views. Staff very well trained and very polite.
Rooms cleaned efficiently. Always greeted nicely each time you arrive to hotel. Rooms always maintained very well
Was undergoing renovations, so was noisey. I have stayed 3x times previously without complaint. This particular time I was disappointed with noise. Check and ensure this isn't occuring before staying!
I have travelled to Bali on 5 occasions now. I have stayed at the Nikko 3x times, along with several other 5-star hotels. The Nikko is excellent value for money. Great quality hotel for the price. Is away from the noisey Kuta/Legian area, so you can relax by the pool/beach and in evening head into the busy kuta area for a drink.
You don't get hassled at the Nikko which is also very appealing.
Is unfortunately a little distance from Kuta/Legian but by taxi (30minuteS) it'll cost merely 70,000idr so is cheap.
I was disappointed my last trip due to renovations, but that has to be done for future travelers to enjoy their stay.
For value for money, highly recommend.
Nightlife Tip : As a solo traveler, it's very easy to meet people in Bali. Head to Legian St or around Kuta.
Plenty bars/restaurants to meet people. I enjoyed Ocean Beach bar (i think is the name) it's a fairly newish bar situated on the beachfront road in Kuta. Usually pole-walkers or flame entertainers on road attracting people to come inside.

Private beach, many activities you can do inside the hotel
Not as good as Ayana (formerly Ritz-Carlton Bali) or Four Seasons, but during off-season this hotel offers a very good bargain. It offers standard 5-star resort hotel services, private beach, many swimming pools, and the vast hotel area for you to explore. During peak season this hotel is full with Japanese tourist.
