Great attention to detail; no request too hard; beautiful room and bathroom ( we stayed in a deluxe chalet); fabulous pool. The softest and most luxurious feather down pillows you will ever sleep on! Huge range of goodies for breakfast..no need for lunch and, if you want to pig out, no need for dinner either!!

The hotel runs different theme nights for dinner at astronomical prices ( to which you have to add 21% in taxes ). Very few people eat at the resort because of the cost. Shame really because by having cheaper dinner prices there would be no need to leave!

We stayed at the Padma in 2005 for 10 days and really enjoyed ourselves and have just returned after spending 16 days there on this trip. There are renovations going on in the chalets and the hotel complex conatining what they call superior rooms was closed on the day we left for a major refit. It will be out of action for about 12 months meaning that the resort will be operating at around 58% capacity in that time. This isn't so bad as you have even more peace and quiet than you would have had without the reno's. The resort is pricey in comaparison to others and caherges heaps for food, drinks and even internet access. All these things are available at around 25-40% of the cost in competing resorts or in the numerous eating places on the streets of Legian. Next time we go to Bali ( next July ) we will break up our accommodation and therefore be able to stay longer.

Restaurant Tip : Try the Italian restaurant linked to the Kumala Pantai which is about 600m to the right of Padma along the beach walkway. Great food, ambience and cheap. Also go a bit further and try Goody's..run by Aussie Italians..fab pizza and 70% cheaper than the equivalent at the Padma

The Padma is a great hotel in a great location. We have stayed there 5 times and my husband won't stay anywhere else. The rooms are extremely clean and staff and very friendly. The pool area is quite large and very relaxing, however if you get bored there is tennis, a gym, tabletennis and pool activities. The great Seminyak resturants are not too far away as is great shopping at the boutiques. Still close to markets and nightlife of Kuta.

Hotel Feature Tip : Order your Taxi from Hotel - no need to walk out to street.

this hotel has a fantastic pool area and the grounds are excellent

we did have room service and we were a bit dismayed when the tray was not collected after 3 days even though we reported it for collection

This hotel is at the end of a quiet street so there is not traffic noise to contend with. It has all the comforts you need. No need to leave the grounds

Staff Good, shame about the hotel Guest Rating: 5.3

The Staff were very friendly and helpful, I couldn't have asked for more from them - unless they'd been willing to repaint the room!

Tired and borderline shabby. Needs renovation urgently.

The complex seems to be undergoing some renovation, and not before time. The place is very tired and borderline shabby. Normally Bali Hotel gardens are pristine, this one looked overgrown. The room itself was like something from a 1980's motel, clean enough, but dark and with yellowing paint on the walls and a decrepit bathroom. We sat in the room for 20 minutes before jumping online to agoda and booking another hotel. The other hotel might have been nearly double the price, but it was worth every penny to have a fresh, bright and airy room. I felt sorry for the staff, they were so helpful and apologetic and looked quite crestfallen when I returned to reception with my bags within half an hour.

Service excellent & friendly grounds staff Big Pool & spacious deluxe chalet room Great food, especially breakfast

My husband & I found the Bali Padma to be a fantastic hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed spending our honeymoon there. The staff were always happy, smiling and couldnt do enough to assist. The room was spotless and quite large with big bathroom. Balcony was great to sit on and enjoy the morning sun. The room even had a dvd player which, if we'd had the time, would have been handy to watch one of the many dvds we'd purchased. The swimming pool was the perfect temperature and although the hotel was busy we were always able to get a pool lounge. The Sunset Bar on the oceanfront was a great place to enjoy happy hour cocktails, listen to live music, watch passers by and ofcourse the sun setting behind the palm trees was a sight to behold. We also ate there a few times and the food was great. The breakfast buffet was magnificent with anything you could imagine. And the location overall was the best part. A walk along the oceanfront boulevard towards Seminyak took us to some terrific restaurants without the hassle of traffic or the nasty fumes. And then on our front doorstep were plenty of street stalls & shops selling what you'd normally get in Kuta but without as much hassle. Lots of different restaurants serving fantastic food from all different countries. We enjoyed Balinese, Chinese, Mexican, Japanese & Australian. Although we didnt get the chance to enjoy the hotel's Spa facilities, we did find a great massage place over the road called Widia Lindas---ask for Jessie and say Aleisha sent you! We arranged transport through the hotel to take us to Ubud & Kintamani and it was a very reasonable price. Overall we would definantly recommend this hotel, even for those with young children, and look forward to staying at the Padma again. Our friends have already booked their trip for December on our recommendation. Agoda delivers great hotel prices :)

Restaurant Tip : The food in Bali is amazing and the restaurants nearby the Padma are an excellent example of this. The Japanese restaurant over the road was great...ask to sit upstairs.

Fantastic breakfast, excellent chalet room (biggest bed and shower ever!), great staff, lovely pool.

They are doing some upgrading but it really doesn't affect the holiday and it very quiet.

The hotel is amazing, we got a great upgrade from Agoda to a chalet room, which has its own little patio and gaden, the biggest bed ever and a huge shower. The room was decorated really beautifully. Breakfast is huge and has everything there. The pool is lovely and great fun for kids, with a pool bar for adults! The staff are great and the babysitters really lovely too. The hotel is right on the surf beach and near to lots of bars, restuarants and shops. Organise an airport pick up when you arrive with the hotel before you go - they may charge you for this - but it is easier than a taxi. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel - lovely new lobby and reception area now aswell. We have been 3 times and will definately go back.

Restaurant Tip : It is alot cheaper to eat and drink at the local restaurants and not in the hotel - although the hotel restaurants are lovely!

Before leaving for Bali, I was worried after reading various reviews online about the renovations going on. However, when we got there.. yeah, the renovations were still on.. but it didn't matter. There was hardly any noise and the staff made sure you were as comfortable as possible. Have your breakfast at Bella Rosa and evening drinks at the Sunset bar. The view and atmosphere is just great.

Great location and surroundings away from hustle and bustle. Great friendly staff very clean. Great band on a Tuesday and Sunday night.

As the resort is still going through renovations with upgrading kids club, hotel shop, beauticians there really isnt anything else.

My husband daughter and I had a great holiday at the Padma celebrating my 40th Birthday it was very relaxing, and friendly we did an Indonesian cooking class at the Padma coffee shop with the chefs we had so much fun well worth while. The hotel is very clean and has a great outlook to your private balcony we stayed in the family room that consisited of a king size bed and two double beds loads of room and brilliant location!

Restaurant Tip : Make sure you book the Bella Rosa Restaurant at the Padma it over looks the ocean and is great to sit and have dinner watching the sunset over the ocean to ensure a good view I recommend you book a table.

can't fault anything...the hotel is under renovation so they are already improving it

It really is hard to stay anywhere else once you have stayed at the Padma. It's in a great location, staff were very friendly and helpful, expecially when I lost my purse and had no money or credit cards they came to our rescue :-)

Chalet room excellent, huge choice for breakfast and Teppan-yaki at the Restaurant an absolute must! Security, staff and service all excellent.

Pool area overcrowded. The hotel is disconnected to beach resulting in hawkers now selling beach chair space by the hour- not good.

The Padma is an excellent hotel, however given the overcrowding, should be better priced. The Teppan-yaki at the Restaurant comes highly recommended, as does the security, staff and service. The pool offers a safe environment for children with activities & lots of fun, the tacos and pool service were good. However a real minus was the overcrowding in pool area (it was hard to find a vacant sun chair) with no designated area on the adjoining beach for hotel guests. The cocktails were sensational and the Lime Crush and a Mojito come highly recommended.

Restaurant Tip : Try the Teppan-yaki at the Hotel, and Goshas restaurant nearby.

Close to beach, shops, restauarants

Breakfasts ok but no poached eggs. Also could not order special dishes like eggs benedict

We booked a superior room then upgraded to a garden villa - fantastic. The staff were very helpful, lots of smiles. The pool is terrific, then easy to get to the beach for a magic massage. The Sunset Bar is a must, watch the sunset then listen to live music or watch some great Salsa dancing. We had an excellent time at the Padma and will certainly go back.

Hotel Feature Tip : Best to take laundry outside - a lot cheaper

FRIENDLY EFFICIENT STAFF. CLOSE PROXIMIETY TO ACTION AND YET QUIET AND LIKE AN OASIS SECRETED AWAY WITHIN LUSH GREEN AND OCEAN

RENOVATIONS MADE IT NO WHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS PREVIOUS VISITS. NEED A HURRY UP THERE, AND REALLY SHOULD ADVISE GUESTS THAT IT IS NOT A MINOR DISCOMFORT BUT MAJOR WORKS

PADMA PERFECTION. FROM THE FIRST WAVE AND CAREFUL SEARCH FROM THE SECURITY GUARDS AND CONTINUING WAVES AND ACKNOWLEDGMENTS IN PASSING, TO THE HAPPY GREETING BY THE RECEPTIONIST AND BELLBOYS AND CLEANERS AND WAITERS AND CHEFS AND ALL STAFF, A GUEST FEELS LIKE A WELCOME RELATIVE. THE AMENITIES AND PROXIMITY TO THE ACTION IS EXCELLENT. PADMA IS A GREAT PLACE FOR BALI HOSPITALITY WHERE ONE CAN COME AND GO AND ENJOY THE ISLAND HOLIDAY WITH THE SECURE KNOWLEDGE THE PADMA PEOPLE ARE THERE TO RETURN TO.

Restaurant Tip : CLOSE TO INEXPENSIVE BUT PLEASANT RESTAURANTS

Staff entered rooms to frequently, No availabitlity for late checkout for late departure

Holiday Padma Bali 2009, what a great experience, the food, the view ths people we cant really go wrong, a huge sedtination for a muti cultural tourist destination. the rooms were lovgely and clean and the food was sensational, from BBQ to tepanyaki they had it all. Who would have thought that an asian country could make a better bbq and burgers than OZ. We will definatly stay there again being so family friendly. Although the bar was set high a few sligtht changes to pricing would have made it all perfect. A little on the expensive side but I guess we are talking 4.5 stars.

Restaurant Tip : Bella Rosa and Mozerella fantastic dining and a short drive if you are a sushi fan go to Sushi Tei!!!!

Excellent Garden Villas worth an upgrade from superior

Breakfasts could be better.

The Padma is close to shops, restauarants and the Beach - ideal. The Garden Villa rooms are fantastic. The staff could not be faulted - very helpful. The breakfasts were a treat everything you could want. We had dinner on our fist night at the Bella Rosa. We watched the sunset while having a marvelous dinner. Also a great Japanese restaurant. Loved the Padam we will be back.
