The Villas are beautiful, love the outdoor bath and shower. The pool is magical. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

THe television reception is terrible however they do have DVD's at reception - and besides the resort is too beautiful to be sitting inside watching television.

We really wanted to stay in a more traditional Balinese hotel in Ubud, and this resort was perfect. The Villas are huge and absolutely private. The pool disappears over a cliff into a rainforest which is magical, the whole resort is very open, complimenting the landscape. A traditional spa treatment is a must. The best thing however about our stay were the staff, they were incredibly friendly and helpful, it was quite sad to leave! We will definitly be back as soon as we can!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Make sure to visit the Royal Pita Maha and have lunch at the organic restaurant down by the water rapids. Amazing.

pool, villa, location, service

Cons - If I had to name one I would say the portions at the restaurant, particularly at dinner. The food is excellent but the portions are quite small compared to other comparably priced restaurants. But the view from the restaurant is divine and the service is impeccable.

From the moment we were greeted at the airport by our driver we knew we were in for a special experience. He provided us with soothing cool hand towels and cold water which were a welcome treat after our very long flight. On the ride to Ubud you are exposed to a myriad of images and senses and can not imagine the calm and tranquil oasis that awaits you upon arrival at the absolutely gorgeous Pita Maha resort. We were greeted by very welcoming staff with a fresh fruit cocktail. The aroma of fresh flowers filled the air as the sounds of the gamelan and Balinese flute were played by musicians near the entry to the hotel. The decor is traditional with a modern twist. The sleek teak furniture and gorgeous flower arrangements do not overshadow the stunning views of foliage and rice paddies. We had a private garden villa which was huge! It also had a beautiful view and nice outdoor seating. There are special touches everywhere: fresh flower petals on the bed; our own slippers and robes; fresh fruit; and a welcome gift of sarongs. The villa is superbly appointed yet feels so authentic. The soaring Balinese ceiling is a work of art. The outdoor bathtub was a surprise and a perfect way to start out our adventure. The villa did not have a private pool but frankly we did not need one. We enjoyed the spectacular infinity pool mostly on our own. I saw maybe one other person the whole time I was at the pool. I will never forget the pool or the entire resort and was very sad to leave it. My only regret is that I did not stay longer. I could have easily spent two weeks at the Pita Maha resort and will definitely be back!

Restaurant Tip : Just two doors down the left is a fabulous restaurant called Indus. It has great views and delicous food. The pumpkin samosas are to die for and there is an extensive list of original fruit juice cocktails.
