warm professional staff, traditional balinese atmosphere, gardens and bulidings

the restaurant was overpriced and food sometimes not fresh

My teenage son and I had a wonderful time at resoe seminyak, plenty to do, right on the beach, other families to socialize with, rooms clean and comfortable, most importantly staff were helpful and friendly. We are sorry it is being demolished and hope the staff and general ambience of the resort remain when it reopens.

Location and it's friendly staff.

It will be demolished by the time anyone reads this

The Resor is a lovely hotel with lush grounds and beautiful rooms. The staff were extremely friendly which was made it even more amazing given the fact they were going to be without a job due to closure on or around July the 1st. The breakfast on the beach was a highlight. The pools were gorgeous! What a shame it will be demolished to be replaced with a more upmarket, boutique style hotel which will no doubt will not be as affordable.

Restaurant Tip : Right next door to the gorgeous Ku De Ta Restaurant!

Location on the beach

The aircon wasn't working properly. Toilet wasn't flushing properly

I stayed there for 2 nights with wife and 2 young kids. Got a free upgrade as the hotel couldn't give us adjoining rooms with my parents-in-law. The food was okay. The location by the beachfront was a plus. Our kids loved the big bathtub in our room. However, stay was badly dampened by the fact that the aircon was not working properly and the toilet not flushing properly despite asking service staff to fix it. I don't think I will be back.

Location - it's right on the beach and seconds away from all the places I want to be in Seminyak Breakfast spot, right by the beach Pleasant poools

Staff were not exactly rude but a little 'laid-back' Bedspreads were clean, but very old and stained Bathroom smelt a bit, felt strangely like a prison cell and the drain clogged one night

I was actually pleasantly surprised given some of the bad reviews. I think for this part of Seminyak it represented excellent value. Yes, the hotel is dated, but it certainly wasn't uncomfortable. Our room (a deluxe) was cavernous and had a sort of dated, stately grandeur about it. The breakfast was plenty for me - bread and fruit, bacon and eggs etc, rice and noodles, cereal, juice tea and coffee. The only very small downside was the staff, who though not rude, weren't particularly helpful, i.e. wouldn't help with making bookings for restaurants or other services. I guess the hotel is a little in need of an update but I understand that is happening in July 2009.

Restaurant Tip : The Chandi - excellent restaurant Jari Menari - amazing massage

Balinese style hotel with clean & lovely beach front. And definitely the most reasonable price among all hotels in Seminyak. Staff very friendly and efficient. Free shuttle service to and from Kuta/Legian.

The hotel is closing down in July 2009, to be rebuild into a brand new resort. Breakfast is limited and not much variety! Shower pressure inconsistent, hot and cold throughout shower!

My wife and I had doubts about this resort and this was our last choice in terms of location & pricing. But upon arriving at the resort, we were pleasantly surprised. Very nice Balinese exterior and interior but jaded. It's low density with a huge garden space for relaxing and playing with kids. 2 pools, both kids friendly. Perfect family holiday resort.

- On the beach - Attentive and Helpful Staff - listen to the soothing waves if your room is close to the ocean

- Recycled water from the sea for shower & bath - Spa was not too clean; toliet facility in spa was appaling

Overall the hotel was good. It had a good service, the staff were attentive and responded to requests immediately. Had a small library but were filled with german and french books only. Has a small swimming pool for sunbathing. Restaurant was litterly on the beach with great view of sunset & the moon. Ideal to go for a stroll anytime. Downside was the water for shower and bath was salty!! Make sure you DO NOT make the mistake of drinking it!! Very unpleasant experience. I would go back to the hotel if i visited Semyak again.

Nightlife Tip : Has a great lounge called Kudata -- only 10mins walk down the beach.

Great location, right on the beach and literally next door to KuDeTa. Standard services you'd expect at a nice hotel - room service, restaurant, pool bar, and even a spa.

Some areas need updating (in particular my bathtub) and you can only access wifi in the lobby for a fee.

I booked this hotel at the last minute as I was in Bali for a retreat and still had no set plans as of two days prior to the retreat's end. I wanted to be on the beach but didn't want to break the bank, and having come from the retreat I was looking forward to having my own room and services like a concierge and room service. The Resor Seminyak delivered on all counts. It was not as luxurious as my retreat accomodations in that the bed was not as comfortable and the linens & upholstery were visibly tired. The bathtub also needed to be recaulked and failed to drain the first time I took a shower. However, housekeeping promptly took care of the problem. It must be noted that the room was spotless and everything else worked perfectly (TV/minibar/hotel provided electrical adaptor/etc). I also requested a late check out as my flight was not leaving Bali until close to midnight and I wanted to shower after spending the day on the beach and before heading out for my LONG flights back to NY. Although they were unable to let me keep my room, they did give me another room in which to take a shower and it was more than sufficient. I would stay at the Resor Seminyak again.

Restaurant Tip : Grocer and Grind is a nearby deli/restaurant with really good Western-style food and both al fresco and air conditioned options.

Great location, next to Ku De Ta on the beach, lots of restaurant opportunities nearby.

Lots of mosquitos but a product is provided and complementary. Internet access is limited to reception area only with open area and no air-conditioning and has a Lots of mosquitos with 100. 000 rupees/day

I like the hotel in general and if i come again i will stay on it if they improve the comments i stated above. the hotel has a very nice location on Seminyak beach, far enough away from the madding crowds but close to many great restaurant opportunities, some within walking distance.

Proximity to beach Beautiful gardens Calm, serene atmosphere

Minor! Squeaky bathroom door-annoying at night

We were met promptly at the airport by a friendly, knowledgable driver. Taking the delicious [inclusive] breakfast while watching the waves roll in was glorious! Wish we could have stayed longer but it was time for helpful staff to arrange our trip to Ubud.

Lovely staff. Very helpful. Great position with restaurants nearby.

Supposedly upgraded with our room. This meant moved to the other side of the road from the main hotel. Air conditioner didn't work properly - the room was very old and we were eaten alive my mosquitos during the night. The mosquito net around the bed was dirty and old and full of holes!

I'll can't wait to go back!! Guest Rating: 6.7

On the beach of Semyniak, even breakfast is taken watching the waves... loved it. Quite area, next to one of the best place to be seen for diner in Denpasar, the Ku De Ta restaurant (from the beach, 20 metres to the left). Best shopping street at 50 meter walking. Nice staff and accomodating house keeping staff(for late sleeper like me) Loved the swimming pools and the tranquility around it. Spa massage are heaven... (but see CONS)

The main swimming pool water quality is a bit too green and adding bleeching product in the middle of the day is not inviting. Rooms are a bit noisy and dated in the old part. I recommend ear-plugs for late birds. Lots of mosquitos but a product is provided and complementary - although would bring some extra. Food is not the best, so stick to simple dishes. Spa is full of mosquitos so prepared to be eaten while having a massage (this really ruined the good quality of treatments... shame!). I recommend to have your massage on the outdoor table instead.

I read PROS and CONS before booking to this Resort and i have to say that, now i have experienced, my conclusions are POSITIVES ! OK some room are dated... but hey! you are in a 3 star hotel. It is a nice location, away from the crowed beach, next to fabulous restaurants, 2 minutes walk from the best shopping street (high end). The team has been very nice with me (although i heard few people having a row while checking out because of a bill - but you have to reconize that some customers can be evil as well). My room was a bit dark and dated but a lot of attention was put into it (minibar well provided with chocs and nuts as well, flowers, anti mosquito product, 3 size of towels, soap, shampoo, bath bubble, body cream, hashtray, matches, balcony, hangers, nice bed matrice very confortable) and all very clean. Personaly i would come back to this hotel. Because for this price in this location, it is worth it! YOU ARE ON THE BEST BEACH.(and do not expect a 5 star hotel when you book for a 3 !)

Nightlife Tip : Do not take the taxi waiting a the hotel which charges you double of the normal price. Ask for a metre taxi... always ! I recommend the next door restaurant called KuDeTa, the place to be seen in Denpasar, really chic and beautiful people. Food is EXCELLENT too.

Fantastic position right on the beach in the best part of Seminyak - close to the best restaurants & shopping , friendly helpful staff , sad that the resort is closing in July for renovations.Great value .

The hotel is a little tired , bathrooms are ready for the renovation but this is starting soon .

We had a really lovely break at the Resor Seminyak Hotel , we always enjoy bali and plan to return and stay at the new hotel ,its a pity that I guess the new hotel wont be the cheaper priced accommodation in this fantastic location next time we visit. We went to Sarong the new restaurant up the road which has fantastic food , there are so many great places to eat close by .

Restaurant Tip : The meals at Sarong are generous - we shared entre , main & dessert and had a satisfying meal , the crispy skin fish was great , Yum

Great location, next to Ku De Ta on the beach, lots of restaurant opportunities nearby. Nice grounds.

Hotel room was average, hard bed, a couple small pillows.

Resor Seminyak is very well located on Seminyak beach, far enough away from the madding crowds but close to many great restaurant opportunities, some within walking distance. The grounds are very nice with a couple small pools. The beach is quite nice. On the down side, the room was just OK, a little cold and boring with a hard bed. And only two small pillows! Renting boogie boards was pretty expensive (50,000 rupees/hour), this should be free to guests. Nevertheless, for Bali it was good value for what we got.

Restaurant Tip : Walk down the beach to La Lucciola for brunch. It's not marked so you'll have to pay close attention and not walk past it!
