The hotel is within walking distance to Ubud market and lots of shopping places, a good walk. Phew! The room is great, big and with a 4 poster bed, the bathroom is big too, the bath tub is good for a relaxing soak! And we had a good view of the pool too.

TV channel is limited though. And we have only one day in Ubud and there is a power cut for whole area around 6pm and we basically walked in the dark from Ubud market back to hotel, a walk which is too dangerous where there is too many construction work along the pavement, felt like I might trip n fall into some drain or being knocked down by crazy bikers ... Although this is really not the fault of the Hotel.

The room is great and really nothing to complain about, just that the room rate we paid does not come with breakfast, so we did not get to try the hotel restaurant overlooking the nice padi field. The hotel staff does not speak much English and the map they gave was a bit misleading. Ubud is nice to walk around with lots of nice shops and restaurants, the place could have been much more pleasant if the pavements are cleaner and less 'traps', scary little escapade to walk in the dark.

Travel tip : The hotel is just opposite to some nice restaurants, one of it that we tried - Pundi Pundi, nice food and nice cosy place to unwind, surrounded by padi fields and a pond with lotus flowers ... kinda romantic to dine in the open space starring into the sky! There is another cafe along the walk to Ubud Market - Cafe Moka, good food and not expensive.

Traditional Balinease style, with extremely friendly and polite staff. Only 24 rooms, 400 mtrs from the Monkey Forrest. The food was good and well priced and the facilities were very clean. The staff spoke very good English.

The International calls from the room were expensive, but that is really not the fault of the Hotel, just a gripe.

The Sahadewa Resort and Spa is Heaven on Earth. Nothing was a problem for the staff, if you needed something, you never had to wait more than five minutes and the problem was solved. The staff follow their own Traditions and are extremely polite and friendly, often happy to stop for a chat. The Staff were all from the local area, which made a difference with us. There is a simple menu which is lovely and affordable. The service is extremely good and the facilities are very clean. It is only seven years old, modern fixtures, with a romantic feel. We had a four poster bed, with white lace curtains, plenty of cupboard space, and a six foot long, deep, bath. We had the best time there! The Staff are amazing and always friendly, we had one stop and chat for a while. The place is magic, as we have called it, Heaven on Earth, we will certainly be back!

Restaurant Tip : Eat at the Laba Laba (which means spider). The food is good, the service is good, the place is clean and they have very good prices. You can't miss the feature spider on its back wall. We also loved the little store right next door! We got almost everything we needed there, and if we could not get it there, we were told where we could. There is also an extremely good driver there, Norman was the safest driver we had, he took us where we wanted to go and spoke very good English.

In the heart of Ubud

No free breakfast included

The Sahadewa Hotel is right in the center of the Art Capital of Bali, Ubud. Just a stone's throw away are numerous restaurants and art shops. One of them is the Puri Garden Restaurant, the number 3 restaurant in Ubud. They have Crispy duck, Nasi Campur, Pork Ribs, Grilled Fish, Sapo Tofu Seaafood, Ayam Bali, and Tuna steak which were all yummy-licious. We (6 persons) paid only 408,250 Rupiah or just around $50 for our brunch. Visit the Monkey forest, Tegalalang Rice Terraces, Mount Batur, Jimbaran for your dinner, and most definitely the Ubud Art Market where you can find the cheapest paintings with the highest quality. Believe me, i have bought 10 in all and they are all worth it!

Hotel Feature Tip : Consider the sister hotel of Sahadewa Hotel-the Ubud Aura as it is better in terms of ambiance, with free breakfast, & better and newer rooms.

Right in the center of Paradise

They had a problem with the water pipes that's why we were transferred to their sister hotel- The Ubud Aura.

It was our second time in Bali, so we were a little bit acquainted with the place already. We were now able to view & have buffet lunch near Mount Batur and shopped at the Ubud Markets. Fortunately, we were able to buy paintings that were within our budget-they are surely triple or 5x the price that we got them. Bone Carvings from cow bones were also relatively cheap as we got them for around $2-6/piece only. A pair of wood carvings that would sell for $30-40 anywhere in the world was bargained to us at $1.5/piece only. Ubud Aura is situated in the middle of rice fields and has an eternity pool.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hire a van for ten hours for only about $45-50 including Petrol & Parking Fee. Our Driver, Mr. Wayan Sudita was very accommodating and was able to bring us to the places that we planned to be...

Affordable

Needs to walk 200 meters to get to the main street

Our stay in Ubud Hotel was made better by the change in the Hotel as Sahadewa Resort got a problem with their pipes, so we were transferred to their sister hotel, the Ubud Aura. It was a pleasant surprise as our room was huge and new. The only con was the presence of a few mosquitoes, however, it didn't ruin our vacation as there are a lot of positives that we can think of-the place itself, the staff, the art markets, the views, shopping, and they even gave us free breakfast for two days even if it wasn't included with the Sahadewa hotel booking.

Shopping Tip : Visit Made Sudiarsa's and Alit's art/painting shops/studious in Bali. They have very nice abstract paintings and you can haggle with them.

Friendly and charming receptionist. He gave us a room next to the pool. Me and my partner love it so much. The place is quiet, so much green and I finished my books without any disturbance. Just love it. You gotta see the room, the bathroom and the bed! I can't believe I pay for these at such good price. I'm going back again....definately!

Just 2 bottles of free drinking water a day.

It's located near to monkey forest. Just within walking distance. Next to this hotel, you will find a spa called "Zen". I had 1.45 hrs spa and only cost little very cheap. You can find cheaper spa along the monkey forest street too....Facial just USD10?? If I have more time there, I think I'll do my facial there everyday! Must try duck! Huge portion of pork ribs...yummyyyyy....

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : duck within walking distance. Spa atcheap price within walking distance as well. If you wanna do shopping, there is a road head up to Kintamani. DO NOT take the route that usually everyone use to go up. There are two routes with two-ways traffic. Take the opposite one. One route go up and the other go down. Use the "go down route" Last word, the room given to us is absolutely charming! Great for honeymooners.

Excellent rooms. Good comfortable base for exploring Ubud.

A bit closed in by the buildings around.

Really nice rooms. They were nearly finished with the renovations when I was there. A very high standard of finish and facilities. The spa is good although not the most luxurious I have been in Ubud. Small pool. The restaurant is not expected to be used, as there are plenty of good restaurants in the area. As a base excellent as a place to hang loose in - maybe not.

Travel tip : Within walking distance of the Monkey Forest

Everything

Nothing

I absolutely love this hotel. We got a great rate on Agoda and could not believe how nice the room was when we ariived. It was decorated with traditional Balinese art and style and we had a huge indow looking out to the pool gorgeous pool area. The room was very large with a big four post comfortable bed and a huge marble bathtun in the bathroom. The staff were also fantastic. The went out of their way to help us as much as they could and were very friendly. Like I said I loed this hotel. It was no Four Seasons, but it had character and was a very confortable and relaxing place to stay.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you go to the sacred monkey forest buy bananas and really hold onto your belongings.

Nice grounds, nice rooms, nice swimming pool

far from the main road.

The grounds are great and so are the rooms. Very nice touches and very comfortable. Great swimming pool too--small but refreshing and very clean. Problem is that this place is a little far from town.

Great location Friendly Staff Clean and spacious rooms Room 206 was great overlooking the pool fantastic restaurant across the road

Room service a bit slack plates left on balcony for ages. No wifi

Had a great three days at this hotel which is located close to every thing. Pool is very private and well kept, lounges a tired but this seems typical of Bali. Staff very helpful and friendly and room was excellent.

Good location, clean and quite, suitable for coupls

Small in size, very limited open space, a very small pool

The hotel is located in the center of Ubud, close to the famous "dirty duck restuarant" and handcraft street. The monkey park and the palat is also not far away. The hotel is small in size, only two rows of 2-story buildings, has a very simple reception desk, has not much open space. However, the standard room is clean and spacious, it is quite confortable aand value for money

The hotel is very quiet and in good location, it closes to the famous "dirty duck restaurant" and some sightviewing points such as mankey park and the Palast.

The hotel is very small in size, with a very simple reception desk. It seems the hotel has very limited space, only two rows of two-story buildings

The hotel is in a quiet place. It is very narrow in space, only two rows of two-story-building with very limited open space. Next to this hotel there is another hotel looks more grand and spacious. No breakfast provided. However the standard room is quite large and clean, it is confortable and valueful for money.
