We booked a small villa. While it did not have its own pool, the main pool was not busy. The villa was secure, clean, had a kitchen and nice gardens.
The breakfast included was generous and served quickly.
it was a nice suprise to stay here
Nightlife Tip:
Potatoe Head is about 200m down the road. Also the restaurant Mantra is across the road on down side and we had lovely dinners and lunches there. P.S no meat only fish and veg.

Beautiful garden ; strange room for our arrival (close to the pool and lots of kids playing around...)and we swtich for an new one ...... but horrible night !!!my back was hurting and i had to ask for a better room and we ended with a one bedroom villa for an extra of 200kr....
nice stay after that , people nice and acommodating us ;we re really enjoyed our quiet little villa at the end of the tropical garden with peacocks;and birds ;clean , calm ;lots of space ; just what i wanted for my vacations!

Friendly hotel in northern Seminyak, Bali

my reservation at taman ayu cottage hotel in 2012, was the first time i have ever used agoda.com. i was really happy with the outcome. taman ayu cottage is a lovely hotel, with wonderfully warm and genuinely caring staff, a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, and very fine rooms. the deluxe rooms at ground level, are large, very clean, and airy. the bathrooms are huge, with enough room to park a small plane. the 'superior' rooms upstairs have much plainer and smaller bathrooms. of the four hotels i stayed at on my 2012 trip to bali, it was interesting to note that taman ayu cottage was the only one to provide flannels ("face cloths") in the bathroom. the staff were so genuinely friendly and helpful, welcoming me with hot kopi bali at 5.30am after my flight had been delayed 5 hours! the only small thng about this hotel that may detract for some, is its distance from the beach. it is about 8 - 10 minutes walk away.
Travel tip:
Ideal for business travellers or those wanting to stay on the outskirts of the noisy Seminyak - Legian - Kuta tourist metropolis. Spend a bit more and enjoy the really pleasant ground floor deluxe rooms... for the extra dollars, it's worth it to feel like you have more space.

Old style Bali hotel

I loved the location because it was out of the major hustle of Seminak but in walking distance to the top end restaurants and shopping of Seminak. (if you want closeness to it all this hotel isnt really for you as youd need to catch cabs everywhere or walk a lot)The room was palatial in size but it was in need of a refresh (lick of paint etc). Breakfast in the resturant was very ordinary but there are so many fantastic places within a 10 minute walk that eating out and getting a great latte was not difficult - I had breakfast on the beach most mornings at La Luciola's which was amazing. I had an amazing in house salt scrub and massage in the gardens whilst I was here.
Restaurant Tip:
You are very close to La Luciolas, Potato Head and Cup de 'Ta (spelling?)and other great eating places.

This hotel is lovely and quiet with large comfortable rooms, balcony's and pool. This hotel is on a busy road but is surrounded by restaurants - some within walking distance others needing a short cheap taxi trip - ask for the meter. Biku is within walking distance as is Potato Head. Highlight is catching a taxi to the beach each afternoon to walk the beach and enjoy the beautiful sunset over the water. Seminyak has lots of upmarket shopping, markets, great food and spas. It is a quieter part of Bali and more relaxing and away from the crowds. Would definately come back to Taman Ayu Cottage.
Restaurant Tip:
Seminyak has the best restaurants- close to Sardines (seafood), Biku, Potato Head and numerous restaurants around the main square in Seminyak. Edi's Warung on the beach is cheap with front row seats to the sunset- great food and service- recommned the Edi special.

In the heart of Petiteget but quiet location. Ten minute walk to the beach. Close to good returannts, spas and shopping. Staff very courteous & helpful. Not keen on the the peacock & peahen shut up in a small cage. Wouldn't bother with the massage service that come to the hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at Taman Ayu. Taxi from airport cost less than $15AUD, lovely welcome by staff and huge room with view of garden. Some of the other rooms look quite small, I would ask for upstairs super delux facing garden & pool. Daily cleaning service was excellent, food good value for money (but simple) and staff were very helpful and friendly. Super close to market & many shops and an excellent Bikram yoga studio few doors down. After reading some poor reviews for Taman Ayu we were a little anxious of what to expect. I'm not sure what some people expect though... Sure it's a little older than some hotels and has faults accordingly (our bathroom door was dodgy, small skirting board missing), but for the size and surroundings, it is excellent value for money and a lovely spot to get your bearings if new to Bali. Massage in stunning garden was lovely and his price too!
Restaurant Tip:
Restaurant directly across road has amaaaazing food. A little pricey but worth the extra few dollars.
