Best hotel I have been

Nice villas tucked into the greenery of Ubud. Great friendly staff who are genuinely concerned with your experience

we certainly did not expect the level of service and the standard of the villas to be so high. the villas were beautifully designed with nice bamboos lining the pathways in the hotel. plenty of greenery and to top it off, the hotel has its own eco-garden. staff were very friendly and attentive to your every needs. even though it was hard to book a villa, the hotel was so well spaced out we rarely encountered other guests except at the restaurant. this is one of the best i have stayed in and no qualms recommending it to couples on honeymoon.

Fresh, relaxing, amazing service

Amazing scenery, middle of a jungle!

Staying at the Samaya was deinitely the most relaxing part of of our honeymoon. We stayed in a river villa and we could hear the sound of water flowing at all hours of the day. The private swimming pool was lovely. The spa was very relaxing, the afternoon tea at swept away was also nice and cozy. They offer a shuttle service to Ubud, where you can find so many restaurants, shops and monkey forest. The view from the breakfast terrace is just wonderful on a sunny day you can see mountains in the diatance. Overall, the service by the staff(personal butler) in the hotel was exceptional, everyone knew us by name and they seemed to know what we were doing each day. They had also decorated the room with all kinds of flowers everywhere on the doorstep in the bathtub, bed as well as flower bouquets on arrival. My only comment would be that some of the furniture could use a touch up or replacement as some wasnt brand new. They dont hesitate to do anything you ask them to. Miss it a lot already and would definitely love to visit again.
Restaurant Tip: try a retaurant called Cinta downtown for great grilled seafood.

River facing villa and sound of nature's splashing

Spacious, well thought interior with river view your the backyard and pool beside your bed

Wonderful villa with river facing views, so close you could hear the splashing water. Has a pavilion in the compound for relaxation and a 1.8M pool at your doorstep. There is also a jacuzzi bath in your bathroom. They serve nice pizza too.

We loved it so much 6 months ago, we decided to return. This is probably the only hotel where my husband and I can truly relax - whilst travelling with our 2 year old. She loved feeding the fish, riding in the golf cart and generally, the attention that she was given by the staff. It was a perfect 4 days and we are already looking forward to our next trip!

A peaceful Paradise with care fit for a King

100 candlelight dinner - position of Hotel is 2nd to no one!

I should keep this little gem a secret all to my self We felt like we were the only people at this hotel The attention to care from ALL staff was truly remarkable (said by one very spoiled princess I must add) The Manager greeted us with a personal tour They really do care at the Samaya Ubud Hotel Food was fantastic Spa was very special In the most relaxing position MUST experience the 100 candlelight dinner We were incredibly humbled by the care we were given & the kindness showed to us These people are truly special If I had to pick at something - it would only be the deep plunge pool was a bit difficult with toddlers although the hotel provided a pool gate already set up for us, so it was very safe

Overall great hotel

Breakfast facing rice field

We had a very short, but nice stay. We arrive at dinner time, and we had out first cripsy duck in Bali. The duck was excellent and you must try it when you come here. Inside the room the amenities and facilites are great as well. I like the jacuzzi in the room. The only thing bad is, a big spider in the bathroom. Hotel had provided insectiside so I can kill it with ease... The breakfast is very nice. I like the banana pancake most and the juice are fresh and delicious

Beautiful hotel, villa well presented.

Staff well trained with great customer service skills.

This resort was very beautiful with a fantastic view across the valley to the rice fields and mountains beyond. The staff were well trained, friendly and helpful. The resort was very quiet, which suited us, but after 5 days I was ready to enter the 'real' world with my batteries fully charged.
Hotel Feature Tip: The spa and massage room was perfect - total relaxation.

Fantastic Service, Rooms good but not amazing

Service, probably best I've experienced

Best thing about the hotel is how great the service is. All the staff were very friendly and very competent. The staff in the lobby double as reception/concierge and can basically meet your every need. Hotel only has 19 villas, so it definitely allows them to be more familiar with guests, but I was very impressed by the fact that each member of staff in the reception knew our names, daily itineraries, where we were going for dinner etc. This made calling up and changing plans very simple since everyone seemed to be already up to date on what our plans were. They were also helpful in recommending place to see, things to do, and restaurants to eat. We stayed at an Ayung River villa, with a nice big pool, but its a shame the view of the river is only viewable from a small balcony, due to walls erected for privacy reasons. The rooms themselves were nice, although a little dark, and looking slightly worn. There was a massive jacuzzi in the bathroom though, which was great to lounge in - this was definitely the highlight of the rooms. Restaurant food was also great.
Restaurant Tip: Avoid Murni's Warung at all costs, supposed to be a high end Indonesian food, but they served instant noodles in a vegetable noodle dish!

Great setting, excellent service.

Spacious villas and huge private pools

Extremely happy we stayed at The Samaya. Even though it's not in the main area of Ubud the complimentary car service the hotel provided made it easy to pop in and out. Staff were great and extremely friendly and helpful. We had breakfast served in our villa every morning which was beautifully set out. The food was excellent. The villas are lovely and spacious. Only negative is the lighting in the villas at night it's very dark. We stayed for 3 nights which wasn't long enough. Highly recommended. Can't wait to return!
