Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Stay in a charming museum garden
Indonesian art and culture, outstanding cuisine, spectacular beach setting, wonderful gardens, great spa experience
9.7
This was one of the most charming small luxury hotels I've ever stayed at. Great food, highly skilled massage therapist, wonderful peaceful gardens. My wife and I ate dinner on the beach. We didn't want to leave and want to come back.

Beautiful decor and setting, lovely and capable staff
8.7
this is a lovely, small hotel with great character and at the kitas rate, good value. javanese, chinese and balinese antiques abound in the public spaces and it feels like each room is unique. this is not the place to go if you are seeking a predictable or typical hilton kind of experience. we absolutely loved sitting on our upper level porch to enjoy the view of the sea and the onshore breezes. great massage and a lovely pool (although limited seating). the only disappointment was the beach, which at this time of year, is strewn with garbage. and of course, that is not the fault of the hotel, which is an utterly delightful refuge in an area that is building up quickly.

Exceptional hotel annex museum
Colnial atmosphere nicely preserved.

Rarely stayed in a hotel with so much atmosphere, every room different, located on the central town square.
X-mas was a special affair, very tasteful and peculiar with local girls singing and local violins to support them. Great

look and feel of room and whole hotel is very traditional and good for anyone looking for a local experience. service is friendly and mostly efficient in response time. the massage/spa experience is pretty decent as well.
Hotel Feature Tip:
pretty far from airport, can take up to 2 hours if there's traffic.

Fantastic Hotel, Great Staff
Staff were amazing and very attentive, friendly and helpful

Staff are excellent. All speak excellent english and are very attentive an helpful. They assisted in suggestions for what to do, where to eat etc.
Hotel doesn't have an official 'restaurant' as such, you pretty much eat wherever you want which is interesting. We on only had one full night there sadly so only did the beach BBQ but it was well worth it. Food was excellent. Setting on the beach with the lighting and wooden masks was good.
The hotel is jam packed with art and artifacts form Bali, China and other places. Like a museum, really nice and atmospheric.
We had a tour of the hotel and saw all room types. Being a fan wood I actually think the Rejang suites are better that the rest but all personal preference. The top/premier/presidential suite was on a whole other level though.
Not cheap by Bali standards but you quickly see and realise why you are paying the premium.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Surfing lessons/board hire on the beach is a lot cheaper than from the hotel. There is also room for negotiation.

Beautiful boutique hotel in Canggu
Very distinctive atmosphere, excellent service
8.3
A great option if you are looking for something original, different from your standard luxury hotel but still very comfortable and with truly excellent service.
As advertised the hotel itself is like a museum containing balinese and javanese artefacts; this makes a pleasant and interesting visit in itself, for which the hotel staff can guide you through. The ambience created by the tasteful decoration and the effort to hide everything modern is very relaxing.
The suite we had was very large and well decorated, with a massive bath, daybed, separate shower room, etc.
The hotel has got a patch of private beach outside, which is well tended and pleasant enough, however the beach is a bit narrow and there are a few big rocks sticking out of the water, probably not really kids-friendly.
Another downside maybe is the location in Canggu; nothing is at walking distance, wherever you go you will need to use a taxi (or a motorbike). The hotel can arrange a free drop-off in Seminyak on request, when their car is available.
I found the hotel staff remarkably friendly and helpful, which is not rare in Bali, but this place stands out in my opinion.
Overall, a great place for a romantic weekend with a cultural twist.
