Excellent service, wonderful food, beautiful rooms, yoga classes, spa

So much attentisme to detail. Staff remember your name and there are all kinds of little things that making staying there a treat. A small beautiful luxury hotel close enough to Ubud. Very relaxed atmosphere . We loved The daily yoga classes, spa and the cooking class we did.

One of the best hotels I've stayed at

clean, modern and comfortable rooms, cozy and friendly

I loved my stay at this hotel, it came recommended and I'm so glad we stayed there. There isn't really anything about the hotel features I'd rave about, in that it had all that you needed. But it was the service, the staff, the environment and tranquility that made the stay memorable as well as a very attentive resort manager. Was impressed with the efficiency of the help on the various questions we had about what to do, where to eat etc. Also with the flexibility of the tour guide service where we could pretty much tailor what we wanted to do and what time to go so we weren't committed to leaving the hotel super early every day! Also enjoyed the the morning walk, even though it was raining the day I did it, I still found it fun. We also went to visit the larger Estate, the Retreat but compared much prefer the Uma where it's much more cozier and everything you need is right there.

Great resort to relax & be pampered

Their service is tops!

Uma Ubud was a lucky pick as we had to shorten our stay in another resort located in Kintamani (a nightmarish place which I shall not elaborate here). We booked Uma Ubud out of desperation to find a nice place to spend our much needed holiday break. Before coming to Uma, we had no idea what to expect and were crossing fingers that it'll turn out well. To our pleasant surprise, it exceeds out expectations is every way. We felt so pampered there. All the staff were well trained, speaks good English and service with a smile. The food is fantastic and what we like is that it serves a healthy menu with fresh green juices. We felt so refreshed from our stay there. It was a pity that we could only stay 2 nights as we already had another hotel booking for the rest of our trip in Bali. What impresses us most is the attention to the little details that the hotel does to make its guest feel well taken care of & pampered. When we come back from our activities in the evening, we find our room being made nicely in such as way as if preparing us for bed. This is definitely one of the best hotel stays that we've experienced so far. This is the choice hotel for those who wants to be pampered and seeks to have a healthy lifestyle holiday. The hotel offers free Yoga classes everyday in the morning & afternoon.

One of the loveliest hotels I've ever been to

Very clean, well-maintained, service was impeccable, private and peaceful surroundings. Beautiful!

loved uma ubud to bits and would definitely want to head back there again. the surroundings were amazingly beautiful - can hear the sounds of birds chirping, insects. hotel itself was very clean and well-maintained. loved the como bath products and the semi-outdoor shower, huge bathtub and massive bathroom. service was personal and amazing. staff could all speak good english and were very courteous.very private and peaceful. only drawbacks were (1) pretty expensive (2) was travelling with mum and she can't walk too much - hence found the many stairs/steps to room tiring (but i didn't inform the staff either so i'm sure they might have done something if need be) (2) mosquitoes at night outside of room (room itself had mosquito net over bed) (3) didn't enjoy the spa that much - massage was only ok and the massage bed smelt abit musty and old.
Restaurant Tip: Restaurant right opposite hotel was pretty famous for their pork ribs, other food.

fantastic boutique hotel.

Ambience, decor, pool, food, staff, gardens, ambience....

Although it is probably not an ideal hotel for our 7 and 9 year old children, it was planned as a break from the more "family" style hotels we were staying in before and after. However, the staff could not have been more welcoming to our children, and to us. The rooms were beautiful, particularly the bathrooms, and I wish we had had longer to settle in and enjoy them. The gardens were lovely as were the bar and restaurant areas. I wish I had had time to enjoy the spa and the gym, because they also looked great. We did a guided walk (I think the Tjampuan Ridge walk) which was well worth doing. Again I wish we had been able to do another. I have recommended this hotel to many friends without any hesitation at all.
Hotel Feature Tip: Because there are no adjoining rooms as such that if you have a young family it might be worth making sure that the room type suits your needs, ie a two bedroom villa rather than separate rooms. And make sure you ask for something to feed the amazing fish at breakfast!

Excellent service and a lovely place to stay

Views and atmosphere

the staff at the hotel are very friendly and eager for you to enjoy your stay. the rooms are light and airy and have great views of the valley. the restaurant serves excellent food, with breakfast by the fish pond a wonderful start to the day. the swimming pool was quiet for most of the day. there is a free shuttle bus to ubud which departs from nine in the morning, every two hours until five in the evening. we highly recommend this hotel for a relaxed and tranquil holiday.
Hotel Feature Tip: An excellent spa

Romantic hotel for couples in love

very romantic room ; very friendly and attentionate staff, nice swimming pool and bar; nice restaurant in a green nature surrounding
9.3
a very romantic stay in a beautiful private room and surroundings with a baldaquin bed and roses in the bath as well as shower in nature. In the middle of nature and beautiful trees and flowers. The hotel is a bit outside commercial and touristic Ubud on a road with very nice shops of local artists with original paintings to sell.
Hotel Feature Tip: a very romantic and ream hotel , expensive but worth it

beautiful hotel, wonderful setting and service

beautiful setting, good service

uma ubud has a beautiful setting, very calming and relaxing. the surroundings are ideal for a relaxing break, it offers lots of wellness activities and great facilities. the location is not far from town, yet still allows a getaway from the crowds in town especially during peak travel seasons. the décor is very clean, neat and classy. service is also of very high standard. particularly like their philosophy and commitment around sustainability for the communities where its establishments are.
Restaurant Tip: kafe, casa luna, bumbu bali

serene and elegant

the decor and location and the boutique feel

just got back from bali ...two nights in uma ubud was a perfect way to wrap up my hectic 5 day itinerary. from the moment i laid my eyes on the whitewashed decor of this boutique property, i knew it would be a good stay. my terrace room with its four poster bed swathed in soft mosquito nets, was the perfect size as was the well-lit bathroom with its clever design of inviting the lush tropical garden inside without you worrying about creepy crawlies! breakfast was superbly fresh and served beside the koi pond and waterfall that lulled your senses. the muesli was to die for as was their home made selection of breads and fruit preserves. location was a blessing- far from the crowds and yet within easy reach of all that was of interest to us. its a wonderful property that offers great value for money and i hope to go back and visit again.
Restaurant Tip: Bridges was by far the best dining experience in Ubud...just down the road from Uma, its a must do for anyone in Ubud!

Hits all the right spots

Great service staff; location is a good balance between being away from the city but not too far away

Uma's staff are among the friendliest and helpful we've encountered in our 3-4 trips to Ubud in the past 5 years. Initiative (or the lack of) is something we (missus and me) sometimes find lacking with service staff, but not at Uma. Two experiences: In the first instance, we were booked for a cooking class but our reservation was somehow not communicated to the restaurant kitchen. When we showed up at the restaurant, the hotel manager offered us a free lunch on the house while the kitchen prepared the cooking ingredients for the lesson (the cooking class was very good, but that's another story). In the second instance, we had perhaps over-shopped during our stay and was in danger of exceeding our flight baggage limit. The front desk offered to 1) weigh the damage; and 2) obtain quotes to ship our extra baggage home. Service aside, we liked that the hotel is located not too far from town (100m from Nuri's, approx 20-30mins walk to town) but still far away to enjoy the quiet that we look for in Ubud. The room (we had a terrace room) was simple yet well designed. Understated with a view of the forest from our balcony/garden.
