We stayed for two nights at Villa Saraswati, and couldn't have been more impressed with the exceptional service and experience. We were picked up at the airport by I Made, who was very friendly and spoke great English, and brought directly to our room because it was quite late at night. I really appreciated that - it means we can have a sleep and deal with the check in hassle the next morning!
The staff were extremely flexible - we woke up a little late and I thought we would have missed breakfast but they were happy to whip it up for us. The lovely Australian owner Dean even drove us into the city because we had missed the shuttle bus - talk about personal service!
If you are expecting a large chain hotel then this is not the right place for you. However, if you want to feel like you're 'coming home' then this is a good place to be.
Another thing is that you are actually located about 10mins drive outside of Ubud city center - not really in the thick of all the action but it will cost about 50K rupiah to get around. There are shuttles three times a day so it was not really a problem, but just something to be aware of.

Our stay was absolute bliss. The hotel is situated a bit outside of Ubud, but there is a free hotel shuttle available to central Ubud a few times a day. Sometimes the taxi drivers struggled to find the hotel.
The rooms are big, clean, stylish and beautiful. I cannot praise the staff enough! Their English is very good and they will really assist you in every way they can. The pool is awesome and clean.
Overall, I will definitely return to this hotel and I'll recommend it to anyone who is going to Ubud.

We loved Villa Saraswati and this was in large part due to owners Robyn and Dean and thier great staff. Komang and Ketut were attentive but not intrusive. The villa itself is beautiful and the outdoor shower was fun. Everyone there was helpful with recommendations on thigns to do and places to eat. We'll definitely be going back!
