Holiday Inn Bandung Hotel, Bandung

this is my fourth visit to Bandung and i have stayed at Grand Aquila, a small boutique hotel (family oriented, can't remember the name) and Novotel (quite good) Bandung. Based on many recommendations, I tried to booked holiday inn before but it was always full. i was fortunate to be able to book for this trip. 4D/3N stay. However, i must say that beside having excellent location, the hotel other facility is, at best, can only be described as average. the hotel is located right at the middle of dago street and very near to Dago plaza. this area is full of people every weekend nite. so you get the bandung nite life buzz.. However, that was the only thing that i consider a plus point for the Hotel. The hotel has been around for a while. it is not actually a run down place, but you don't get the feeling of a top notch hotel either. The coffee house also serve an average buffet breakfast. The gym is so small that they only have two treadmill. and both are well used too.. Since they also have walk in guest using the facility, it is definitely not enough. Even five people in the gym at one time makes you feel crowded.

Good Hotel for Me to Rate for a 4 Star

Having decided for it though slightly above planned budget we were delighted about this hotel. Extremely helpful and friendly staff speaking enough English, comfortable, cosy and safe place. I even liked the building, it gave us a kind of home feeling more than you can ask for in a large hotel. Excellent location, perfect to walk around neighbourhoods off Juanda or north along famous Jalan Juanda w nice restaurants, several factory outlets without the traffic and stress of the central shopping streets. 10-15 minutes to airport, Jalan Braga, centre, Dago Park. 6 minutes to Gedung Sate. No need to cross the city if heading north to the volcanos. We didn't try the hotel restaurant. So many nice restaurants in Bandung.
