The hotel is situated near the Harbourbay Ferry Terminal when travelling to and from Singapore. Novotel is the best international chain hotel in Batam Island. The room is nice and comfortable with international standards. It is recommended for people who want to feel luxury in this countryside place. Taxi is the only means of transportation to the different shopping centers in the island.

I was welcomed by the bell boy and noticed how posh the place was compared to the other hotels in Batam. The room's are spacious. Especially the beds, which can't be compared with any ordinary hotel. It's so comfy I sank in there. There are bath tubs too and LCD monitor TV with movie channels. In all it's definitely worth the stay. But the only cons there is, that it is pretty far from town, you need to take a cab to Nagoya Hill Shopping centre but it shouldn't cost alot.
Shopping Tip:
Take a cab to Nagoya shopping centre where you can find most of the products they sell in Batam and all the nicer and safer foods around.

great location: abt 10 min to shopping area/nagoya hills/ batam centre ferry terminal (50,000 rupiah. batam cabs do not run by meter.
great service: receptionist remembered my hotel room number without having to check. house keeping was prompt in bringing extra toiletry requested.
aircon and ventilation in the room is ok. no musky smell.
some websites still shows old balinese woody furniture in the room. but they had been refurbished with contemporary design. mattresses are old though. towel and bedsheets has stains and burnt marks caused by cigarettes.
tv is too small. not proportionate to room size. but has good selection of channels like fashion tv, starworld.
hotel free shuttle to shopping area only at hrs. van sits 9 pax.
upon check in, i was required to place a sgd50 as deposit for mini bar, which was not mention at time of booking. but no big issue since we did not consume any. it was quickly refunded upon check out with no hassle.
Shopping Tip:
Wouldn't recommend Batam as a shopping venue. Their biggest and newest mall is the hypermart opposite to Batam Centre ferry terminal. Limited selection and not cheap at all.
Massage/spa is super cheap in Batam. 1 hr foot reflex SGD$9. Two hr of full body Balinese massage $34. Many spa outlets provide free pickup from hotel/ferry terminal. Book and enquire online prior to arrival.

i been there with my family, total 3 family. the hotel was so great, clean and we find the room was super fantastic worth the money. the staff very friendly and helpful too. only 1 thing that need to be improved is the hotel breakfast, need more variety. overall the hotel is find.

novotel batam hotel was pretty decent for the price that i paid for, room was clean and service was good, but something seemed to be missing as there was not a lots of guests around when i stayed there! however, for guests who prefer peace and privacy, it seems like a good hotel!!!
