Beautiful interior design, very friendly staff and excellent spa and buffet

Bit on the expensive side, but all worth it. Rooms can be updated a bit with some paint work and tiles in bathroom needs upgrading. Longer time at the market for shopping would be great. At least 2-3hrs.

We had an absolutely wonderful weekend at the Bintan Lagoon Resort. The welcome staff with song and dance was wonderful as well as our easy check in. Excellent Buffet and very comfortable rooms with great views over the pool and resort. Excellent spa with very friendly staff. Also the staff at the pool were very friendly and welcoming. Overall an excellent experience and wonderful time at the resort.

Beautiful beach and surroundings

Fairly isolated location and a long way from any shopping or alternative restaurants

Just returned from a few days at Bintan Lagoon. We were met at the ferry terminal and given a seat on the bus for the short journey, about 20 minutes to the resort. A great service. Whilst the resort is a little dated, the beach and jungle/garden surroundings are lovely. The overall facilities, pool, activities, restaurants etc are good and it appears a number of rooms are being re-painted and/or renovated. We stayed in a Deluxe sea-facing room and the location was right at the end of the wing with a superb view over the golf course and the ocean. A little bit of walk from the main reception and restaurants, but lovely and peaceful. The staff were friendly and helpful and always greet you with a smile and hello. The room rate included breakfast, with the selections to eat on a par with just about anywhere in Asia. We tried the Japanese restaurant, which was good, but a little expensive. In fact the food and beverages in the resort were definately expensive by Asian standards. Suggest you stock up with some snacks and drinks before you arrive. Also beware of the prices for transfers to the golf courses as the 10 minute trip to and from Ria Bintan cost S$30 return. One word of warning, make sure you have a good strong insect repellent as the sand flies are pretty mean. Overall a great spot for a short break.

Shopping Tip : Stock up with some snacks and drinks before you arrive as it fairly isolated and the resort prices are a bit over the top. For the golfer, a round at Ria Bintan is a must. See about a package beforehand if possible, as it is pricey on an individual basis.

Big pool Very nice room Nice beach

Quite expensive food compared to standard

Big resort with a very big and nice pool, close to the nice beach. Staff was friendly and helpful and there are plenty of activities such as jet ski, 2 golf courses etc. Our room was very nice and clean, we also had garden view terrace. 4 different restaurantsm the japanese was very nice but some of the other ones were ok, but quite pricy compared to standard.

Restaurant Tip : We have heard that the japanese and italian are the best

Well located with a super pool and swimming beach. Great for young kids. Comfortable rooms. Be clear to stress NON-SMOKING if you want it and make sure they realise that means ... that someone didn't smoke in it 2 days before and they left the window open. Haul them over the coals for this ...

Visit in May 09 - some refurb work going on. Sand flies - make sure you diligently wear your anti-bug cream when hanging out by the beach, Trust me - you will not know you were bitten until 24 hours after the occasion and you'll be swearing about it and very uncomfortable. Food is relatively expensive.

A nice excuse and place to go to get away from SINGAPORE. Good value at the room price and included breakfast. Other meal prices a little EXPENSIVE. Kids will love the beach, but please protect all the family from the SAND FLIES. Anti-bug cream does the trick.

Shopping Tip : If you have kids, take some soft drinks from Singers at $1 each versus paying $6 or 7 per coke at the hotel!!

Beside Golf course and driving range. Many activities are available.

Food quality is not good. Room is not so clean.

Atomosphire is for familly or group especially with kids. It's bit noisy for couple. SPA facility is not fantastic. Hospitality is good.

nice area, wonderful pool and other facilities

If you are not into golf, little to do

For those who like resorts this is the option. The hotel is well managed and you will certainly find your way to relax. We only stayed two nights and it was a peak season due to an event, but all service went smoothly even fully booked. The whole area is all resorts, so if you are looking for something genuine or "Bintanese" hard to find it here. But those choosing to travel here probably know it already. Enjoy the South China Sea

Hotel Feature Tip : The activity center has a lot to offer. Try the trampolines!

Close to Singapore, easy to get to. Plenty of activities to do

Food and drinks are at Singapore prices. All prices in Sing dollars. I paid in Rupes and got the change in Sing dollars. which was annoying

A nice litte Singapore getaway. I took the missus over there for a romantic weekend, easy to get to on the ferry, when you get there a transfer bus is ready and waiting. A warm friendly welcome on arrival and the staff is always willing to help. Lots of activities to do around the place. But the swim up has to be one of the best features. Only bad thing is that prices for food etc are at Singapore prices and not at Indonesian prices.

Hotel Feature Tip : Take Sing dollars

location!

none

I generally do not like resorts, but the Bintan Lagoon Resort Bintan Island changed my mind. Excellent room, fine dining, awesome pools, amazing beach on the pristine South China Sea, kickass gym facility, fantastic staff, the best dirty vodka martini I had in SE Asia, the list of amazing things goes on and on right down to the komodo dragon that prowls the grounds. I would go there again in a heartbeat.

value for money. many activities offered.

under-staffed for the weekend crowd. check in took a very long time to process. service is not up to standard. check in staff was generally rude. no smiles.

acceptable for the price. would be much better when all rooms are refurbished. i went on sunday, after the large crowd checked out from the weekend, took a very very very long time to prepare the rooms. some guests couldnt even get the room after the standard 3pm check in time. service was poor, not even 2 star standard.

Restaurant Tip : bring your own food.

Large, clean room with pleasant balcony and very nice toiletries Great pool V convenient for beach, extensive choice for breakfast

Bedside lights did not work Vicious sandflies on beach (this is a cleanliness issue)

Staying at Bintan Lagoon Resort is good for those who want an undemanding short break or for golf fans. The sqeaky clean roads, smartly pruned bushes and immaculate lawns are deceptive, however. The cleanliness is only skin deep - beware the tiny but ferocious sandflies on the beach and slap on the insect repellant, otherwise you will be bitten to death as I was. The hotel turned out not to be as good a deal as we had hoped as the restaurants charge very high prices, for tiny portions in the case of the Japanese restaurant. However, when you just want a snack, only large meals are available the beach cafe. Otherwise expect all the usual features - a blandly competent band playing dreary pop tunes, a hotel bar almost entirely lacking in atmosphere and a huge, impersonal open space as you enter the lobby. I have to say, the service from hotel staff was faultless, though.

Hotel Feature Tip : The 45 minute massage I had on the pondok by the beach was excellent, though overpriced by Indonesian standards at Sing $42.

Beach

Activities all ended at 6 pm, which was too early

The hotel contains compenhensive services; however, due to limited tourist, the activities in the beach ended very early. The options tour ended 2:30 pm. I have checked in after 2 pm; but, mangrove tour ended 2:30 pm, which was impossibel for me to participate. As for night tour, the hotel did not provide it, not like the other hotel or travel agent. The shuttle bus service to shopping mall was limited. The best free shuttle bus will run every one or two hours. As a whole, the hotel room was clean and spacious. The environment is good. The beach is beautiful; though, a little bit dirty.

The sea, the pool, the food and the cocktails.

The fridge didn't work and was replaced, the safe never worked, our key didn't work and the spare bed was not available until after 5.

It is a beautiful setting and a delightful way to spend a lazy weekend. It feels decadent but is so close to home. The Lagoon is well cared for and makes you instantly glad you are there. The welcome song and dance, the welcome drink all are the start to a luxurious holiday. Everyone is friendly and are there to make your stay a memorable one. We enjoyed the total experience.

Nice & Quiet. Golf course excellent.

Looks a bit tired although renovations are being carried out. If you are in rooms facing away from the sea you will find it very hard to get any thing dry especially towels if you have taken any.

Like most of the complaints the price of drinks and food is totally out of order. They have you captured so you have no where else to go. If you have kids, take out a mortgage before hand.

Lunch at the Kopi O Restaurant was fanstatic, waiter by the name of suwardi was very friendly and pleasant

bad reception co-ordination by the front office & housekeepinh.

The reception was slow and made empty promises on room being ready hourly. We had to keep goin back to the counter for umpteen times to check if the room's ready and they kept saying the housekeep still cleaning it for 4 hours?? Then they said check in time is at 3pm. When it's 3, there is still no reply. When we got to the room 2032, the air con was leaking.

Beautiful swiming pool, grand and maravelous garden

A little bit remote from other hotels

Our room's key did not work. The security box was locked. I reported them to staff and waited. 25minutes later I complained again over the phone and waited. Ay last I went to the reception and complained it to a receptionist named Tony. He was very very helpful. Five minutes later he moved to our room with me apologizing for the difficulty ,fixed the box and a repairman cane soon and fixed the door.I could relax an hour after I had arrived the room.

Hotel Feature Tip : In or country, staff try to satisfy as soon as possible. But in this country, time is slow. I think it is their culture.
