Lovely beach (except for the jelly fish!) Cute little zoo and free range monkeys

Needs time and money spending on it. Customer service needs improving.

We chose this hotel as we hoped it would be a 'cheap and cheerful' weekend away, but it was just cheap and we wished we had spent a bit more and stayed somewhere nicer. The beach is lovely, but there are only 8 sun beds on the beach so you have to fight for them and there are jelly fish in the sea. The cabins need redecorating and a good clean. The customer service wasn't great. The food was good, but didn't all arrive at the table at the same time, so on one occasion everyone had finished before mine arrived! My advice - stay somewhere else!

friendly helpful staff, aesthetic, beautiful flowers and furniture, clean, well-maintained, quiet, interesting walks and attractions around, very nice beach/ocean (though with view of other islands on the horizon, not endless vista), clean water (no rubbish, lovely aquamarine colour - as it should be!)

no screens on windows (stuck with A/C), food so-so (although didn't try house specialty - pizza - and breakfast buffet was quite nice), no decent seafood, better signage, maps and brochures of activity options would help

I arrived with my elderly mother and toddler in the evening and found the staff very accommodating and helpful. The cabana was clean, comfortable and we slept well, waking early to take a walk on the beach, then to the complementary breakfast buffet which had all the necessary elements: good bread and coffee, fresh fruit and juices, yogurt and many freshly-cooked options, both Western and Asian. We discovered lots to do in the Nirwana complex: great swimming pool, nature walks, other spots to rest and drink fresh pineapple juice, and everywhere folks were extremely friendly and helpful. Overall, we were very satisfied. The specialty fish restaurant was a little disappointing however: all dishes superb except the fish, which tasted "farmed" rather than ocean-caught. I would definitely go back as it's a short haul from Singapore and makes for a nice little getaway. With more time, we would have explored Trikora beach and other spots on the island.

Enough variety for a few days.

I felt like a prisoner. The only place to go outside the resort was Pasir Oleh Oleh - a tourist market for the resort.

I knew something was amiss from the presentation on the ferry. They showed a 'first class' cabin which obviously wasn't available on the boat we were on. The shuttle bus from the ferry terminal was efficient, but I was disappointed that those staying at the hotel got a welcome band and dancers, whilst those of us at the beach resort got nothing. We were checked in and left to hike to our hut with no guidance from the staff. The Hut had a constantly running toilet and no hot water, however this was quickly fixed by the excellent maintenance department. As everyone was trapped here (see cons) we were forced to pay what was effectively Singapore prices. Not quite the reason I chose cheap Indonesia as a destination.

Nightlife Tip : Great photo opportunity from Calypso bar at sunset.

- Friendly and helpful staff. - Beautiful beach. - Convenient transport methods (internal shuttle within Nirvana Gardens). - Very relaxed atmosphere.

No telephone in hotel rooms. Need to walk all the way to the lobby if there is a need to talk to the staff.

Stayed at Nirwana beach Club for 4 days and 3 nights. The experience has been a pleasant one. The room we got was very well kept and whenever we required the staff to make up room, the response was immediate even when we were gone for only an hour. Also, the cabanas face the beach and if you get the right room, you can sit outside in the evening and admire the beach scenery right from your cabana. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Furthermore, since there are 2 other Nirwana hotels and the Kelong Restaurant which offers tasty seafood delights nearby, there is a free internal shuttle which runs within Nirwana Gardens. This saves the expense costs of traveling around in a taxi which is quite necessary if you are going to step out of Nirwana Gardens.

Restaurant Tip : Go to the nearby Food Court at Nirvana Resort Centre if you are looking for delicious and yet cheap local delights.

small comfortable huts set in jungle close to the beach. Very beautiful and peaceful. Cheaper style accommodation but easy walking to better amenities at the Nirwana Garden resort.

Bed was pretty ordinary compared to most hotels but clean and comfortable. Singapore pries for food and drink. $5 for Bintan beer is too much. No meal under $10. Trapped inside resort but its pretty good so no need to go else where.

Beach Club resort is a small hotel by a great beach but within a much larger resort called Nirwana Gardens. Beach club is low key and relax and peaceful set amongst the jungle with monkeys, big lizards and the odd snake. Its easy to walk to other parts of the resort to use their restaurants, bars, pools etc. All can be billed back to your room. Transport from the ferry and back is well organised and comfortable. Nirwana is a great place for a family holiday or just a couples getaway

Restaurant Tip : hire buggy to see the resort early in your stay so you knows whats available. Food and drink is expensive so be warned.

Location is great, all the 3 hotels very nice. Bar good and helpful staff.

Should have more choice for Indian veg food. Althought restaurant spice is there but very limited choice of food.. and since is a big property, should have more choices of food for veg people.

The hotel location is great and offers lots of choices for non veg ppl at the buffet. Helpful staff but it is too big to travel .. The price for Jet Ski is a little high compared to other places but yes it is a good place to be I had a good time and I enjoyed it a lot.

All in all, I wouldn't say my stay was bad nor was it fantastic. If you are someone who doesn't mind traveling out to the local district (not pasar oleh oleh) for some real local cuisine or seafood cuisine, try contacting the local taxi people. One of the taxi guys brought my girlfriend and I to a local seafood restaurant that's much like the Kelong Restaurant in Nirwana but 3 times cheaper!

The resort is well supported with transportation from the ferry terminal, then to different restaurants and shopping in the evening. The buses are clean, organized and efficient.

Hotel Feature Tip : After being at the hotel only an hour, we had seen monkeys in the trees, a mini zoo with beautiful birds, a large lizard and a ray in the water.
