Nice Resort - expensive activities

The place has the whole Indonesian island resort feel, and we got a good rate of $125/night through Agoda (bargain!). Would thoroughly recommend a stay here to break up the hustle bustle of Singapore, but beware everything you do is in the resort and prices are Singapore tourist prices. Glass of wine - $15, meals are $20-30 and up (they even charged us $1 for an ice bucket!).
We had fun, stayed for 2 days, spent most of it in the pool as the myriad of activities cost too much for us. If you were willing to spend the cash and do everything you could spend a week here (golf, waterski, paintball, bowling etc) but if you just want some down time at the beach or pool, stay for 2 nights and bring your own food and drinks :)
Also note, check-in is at 3pm but we arrived at 11am. We had our swimmers with us so jumped in the pool for a few hours while waiting for our room. A lot of other just sat around reception looking bored for hours, so either come on the later ferry, or bring your swimmers in your carry on luggage.
Restaurant Tip:
You have little choice but to buy everything through the resort so bring your own food and drink to save costs.

My stay at the Nirwana gardens was very soothing and relaxing. I checked-in with my wife on saturday. But since I had arrived beforehand, there were some hours before we could actually get the rooms. But, that gave us ample opportunity to go to the Nirwana Resort Centre where we enjoyed archery & rifle shooting followed by lunch at the Spice Restaurant at the Mayang Sari Resort. Best thing was we were able to walk to all these places without any discomfort. When we returned and got into our rooms, we rested. Then we went to the beautiful swimming pool. The view is mesmerizing. Swimming pool and the sea all in one view. After swimming, we went for bowling and then had a great dinner with wine at the coffee house. The next day, we tried our hand at Kayaking at the beach club and clicked photos with horse & elephant. This was followed by another session at the beautiful swimming pool. In the night, we went for the fireflies tour that was booked at the resort itself. The last day we went for massage and a short trip to Pasar Oleh Oleh. To conclude, the trip was worth every penny and I loved the fact that with exception of the fireflies tour & the pasar oleo oleo, everything else was within a hop's reach. I loved my stay and would like to go back again to rejuvenate.

The hotel organized the pick up transportation well. We had dinner at the seafood restauarant and the sunset view is extremely attractive. Must try!
The room was worn out and not as good as the photo.
We went to the Oli Oli market, but it is just a small village. Massage is nice too...

Enjoyed the location, very easy transfer from the ferry terminal. Gruonds well kept, many optional activitites. Clean beach with white sand, lots of fish to see or just get some sun on the beach. Everything is Singapore prices so be ready for that and it will not disapoint.

The Nirwana Resort Hotel turned out to be more than we expected. The location of the hotel was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our requests were acceded to and we got a room which offerred much privacy and a view to boot. The whole place was clean and comfortable. There were many options for food and activities. We were really impressed with the housekeeping staff, the awesome spread of breakfast at the coffeeshop, and of course the swimming pool and the beach. Overall, it was a more than satisfactory experience. We'll certainly be back.

When we arrived at the Bintan Resorts jetty, after custom clearance, there are already staffs they to help and show us their shuttle bus. We arrive at the hotel with welcome drinks and dance at about 10am. Go to counter for check-in, been told that to come one hour later for the room because the room is not ready. We can let our baggage keep at the lobby and looking around first. After one hour we come back to collect our key and been told that our room has been upgraded to deluxe room, at first i am surprise and happy for the upgrading to seaview. However we been allocated a room at the ground floor, no balcony, no seaview as it has been blocked by structures, the view out of the window is a field with children playground. And because of privacy, we gotta close the window all the times. If I know I been allocated to such "Deluxe" room, I rather not to upgrade. Other than this, the room is clean, the swimming pool is nice, the beach is clean, the sea water is clear, the restaurants foods are nice and price are reasonable, generally the staffs are friendly and helpful. Overall the hotel is nice and worth to stay. Will consider to come back again.

Receptionist and other staff were friendly and always ready to help. Room was clean and very family friendly. Responses are a bit slow to attend to request but still acceptable (at least 5-10 mins waiting time).
One of the better places where various activities are available. Will definitely go back again.
Restaurant Tip:
Personally prefer the food at Poolside Restaurant. Variety of options and reasonable price.
