Not worth the price

all in all, the price cannot be justified. the rooms and the hotel have definitely seen better days, i.e. are in need of some serious renovation/refurbishing. pitty, as all the staff are very friendly and there's a lot to do in and around the hotel.

good educated staff and well organized shuttle system; good hardware quality, in particular the pool; nice beach location and beautiful white sandy beach;
unfortunately there are several stones in the low water beach area, thus you need to swim and children cannot walk everywhere easily into the water;
in low season it is calm and relaxing, high season might become too noisy and crowded.

Lovely beach resort with excellent restaurants

nirwana is an affordable, family-friendly beach resort with an excellent selection of restaurants, a good spa, pool, and indoor facilities. it is located a short 10 mins ride from the ferry terminal. staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and bright. i would certainly recommend it!

lucky and great pick
close to the ferry from singapore, lots of activities within 200m, great pool and beach

we stayed for 3 nights and had a very good time. the service is great with a choice of 3 restaurants (recommend rin).
the best feature for us was the choice of activities, and because they are very close by we were able to pack a lot of different leisures within a couple of days (archery, shooting, quad buggy, bowling and pool in a one day !).
the prices are ok, fairly close to what you would pay in singapore.
i would definitely recommend this as an activity filled trip, but also to relax with the great beach and very nice swimming pool. there's even a bar in the swimming pool where you can have a cocktail while in the water for the thirsty ones....

we have been to this hotel several time; it has always been a good place for a short getaway. the clarity of the ocean changes all year round; the best time of the year in our opinion is from may to oct, seas can be surprising clear & warm, very nice...

Ideal hotel for a weekend getaway. Good service.

two friends and i sailed in from singapore. got picked up promptly from the ferry terminal. since it was a week night, everything was very smooth with no chaos. check-in took no more than 5 minutes.
the room was nice, clean and cosy. the hotel lobby and surrounding areas were calm and peaceful - again, mainly because it was a weekday. on the weekend, however, as expected, it got a lot more crowded, noisy and chaotic. this change was also seen in the service - smiles faded, tones changed, etc. but this would happen anywhere, and it didn't affect our stay in any way.
although the hotel booking price was relatively reasonable, everything in the hotel was horribly expensive. it was as much as and in many cases more than you'd pay in singapore. this applied for everything from food and drinks to activities like kayaking and jet-skiing. but we knew about this before we set out, so it wasn't a surprise. however, if you go thinking bintan is really cheap, you may be in for quite a surprise.
overall - great stay and lovely experience.

Great all-in-one resort

the size of the room is decent. and there is something for everyone at this resort, food and entertainment wise. we had two back-to-back fantastic chinese dinners at the resort's restaurant called 'the kelong'. a kelong is a malay word to describe a form of offshore platform built predominantly with wood, and can be found in waters off malaysia, the philippines and indonesia, and singapore.

Good spoiled beach where live hermit crabs and group of small fishes are observed along the long shorelines. Well planted trees and shrubs in the hotel surroundings. Good swimming pool by the beach suitable for children and adults at different depth. There are also lots of amenities and facilities to offer only to pay an extra price.
Drawbacks are the hotel bathtub is old and stained and the T.V. is still the CRT (box-type). Another drawbacks are the expensive food offered in the hotel comparing similar food we can get in Singapore. It can be 5 times more expensive comparing the fried rice for example. Though the breakfast is inclusive and they offer wide varities both western and asian and the food is geneally good.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If you like to laze at the beach and swimming pool, this is the place!
