value for money. many activities offered.

under-staffed for the weekend crowd. check in took a very long time to process. service is not up to standard. check in staff was generally rude. no smiles.

acceptable for the price. would be much better when all rooms are refurbished. i went on sunday, after the large crowd checked out from the weekend, took a very very very long time to prepare the rooms. some guests couldnt even get the room after the standard 3pm check in time. service was poor, not even 2 star standard.

Restaurant Tip : bring your own food.

Large, clean room with pleasant balcony and very nice toiletries Great pool V convenient for beach, extensive choice for breakfast

Bedside lights did not work Vicious sandflies on beach (this is a cleanliness issue)

Staying at Bintan Lagoon Resort is good for those who want an undemanding short break or for golf fans. The sqeaky clean roads, smartly pruned bushes and immaculate lawns are deceptive, however. The cleanliness is only skin deep - beware the tiny but ferocious sandflies on the beach and slap on the insect repellant, otherwise you will be bitten to death as I was. The hotel turned out not to be as good a deal as we had hoped as the restaurants charge very high prices, for tiny portions in the case of the Japanese restaurant. However, when you just want a snack, only large meals are available the beach cafe. Otherwise expect all the usual features - a blandly competent band playing dreary pop tunes, a hotel bar almost entirely lacking in atmosphere and a huge, impersonal open space as you enter the lobby. I have to say, the service from hotel staff was faultless, though.

Hotel Feature Tip : The 45 minute massage I had on the pondok by the beach was excellent, though overpriced by Indonesian standards at Sing $42.

Beach

Activities all ended at 6 pm, which was too early

The hotel contains compenhensive services; however, due to limited tourist, the activities in the beach ended very early. The options tour ended 2:30 pm. I have checked in after 2 pm; but, mangrove tour ended 2:30 pm, which was impossibel for me to participate. As for night tour, the hotel did not provide it, not like the other hotel or travel agent. The shuttle bus service to shopping mall was limited. The best free shuttle bus will run every one or two hours. As a whole, the hotel room was clean and spacious. The environment is good. The beach is beautiful; though, a little bit dirty.

The sea, the pool, the food and the cocktails.

The fridge didn't work and was replaced, the safe never worked, our key didn't work and the spare bed was not available until after 5.

It is a beautiful setting and a delightful way to spend a lazy weekend. It feels decadent but is so close to home. The Lagoon is well cared for and makes you instantly glad you are there. The welcome song and dance, the welcome drink all are the start to a luxurious holiday. Everyone is friendly and are there to make your stay a memorable one. We enjoyed the total experience.

Nice & Quiet. Golf course excellent.

Looks a bit tired although renovations are being carried out. If you are in rooms facing away from the sea you will find it very hard to get any thing dry especially towels if you have taken any.

Like most of the complaints the price of drinks and food is totally out of order. They have you captured so you have no where else to go. If you have kids, take out a mortgage before hand.

Our room facing the sea, nice view and the room is spacious. Bathroom is also spacious. Room is cleaned everyday. Nice breakfast. Private beach.

Food not taste good and expensive.

Good experience, friendly staff, spacious room with balcony, king size bed. The weather was hot during our stay. Expensive food and outdoor activities. Beautiful scenery. We had our buffet dinner at one of the restaurant in the hotel, it was expensive dinner and the food was not up to standard. The next day we had dinner at the beach bar and the food was cheaper and taste much better. Will definitely go back again ...

Staff very nice and helpfull. Always cheerfull.

Prices for food and drinks is extortion under a different name...

My kids loved it...My 4yr old Daughter was spoiled rotten by the girls in the Bar at reception...Very friendly...

Hotel Feature Tip : On account of the Bar prices...Buy a cheap case in Lucky Plaza in Sin before you leave...Fill it with your favourite tipple and take it with you...

Lunch at the Kopi O Restaurant was fanstatic, waiter by the name of suwardi was very friendly and pleasant

bad reception co-ordination by the front office & housekeepinh.

The reception was slow and made empty promises on room being ready hourly. We had to keep goin back to the counter for umpteen times to check if the room's ready and they kept saying the housekeep still cleaning it for 4 hours?? Then they said check in time is at 3pm. When it's 3, there is still no reply. When we got to the room 2032, the air con was leaking.

Beautiful swiming pool, grand and maravelous garden

A little bit remote from other hotels

Our room's key did not work. The security box was locked. I reported them to staff and waited. 25minutes later I complained again over the phone and waited. Ay last I went to the reception and complained it to a receptionist named Tony. He was very very helpful. Five minutes later he moved to our room with me apologizing for the difficulty ,fixed the box and a repairman cane soon and fixed the door.I could relax an hour after I had arrived the room.

Hotel Feature Tip : In or country, staff try to satisfy as soon as possible. But in this country, time is slow. I think it is their culture.

Room is large and swimming pool is big and very beautiful.

Food in the restaurants are very expensive.

Room was large and comfortable, though my room was far from reception. I went to mangrobe tour, but did not see a lot of animals as I expected. Although there are nowhere to eat outside the hotel, hotel restaurants are very expensive. But overall, hotel staffs are friendly and my stay was comfortable.

Restaurant Tip : There are several restaurants including Japanese, Italian and BBQ and all of them are expensive.

nice pool, poolside bar, and beach side bar.

food was terrible and expensive

I had an o.k. time, but for a beach/resort style vacation I wouldn't go back. (nicer and cheaper in Thailand). The food was terrible and expensive. The beach had this orange liquid on it (I suspect it may have been the pesticide from the night before). If you want a massage or manicure go to the small town, Pasar Ole Ole ..it's much cheaper than the one at the hotel.

Shopping Tip : They tell you prices of souvenirs at Pasar Ole Ole are cheaper, but we found for many items the hotel gift shop was really less expensive

Great beach and beach amenities. Reasonable choice of good food (slightly overpriced though).

The area "protected" from jet skis is too small and the jet skis should not depart so close to where people play in the water.

Overall a good RESORT (what do people expect sometimes I wonder). So yes it is big and many people stay there. But considering it is a resort, it's quite easy to find peace and quiet and the amenities (on the beach at least) are quite good. I wouldn't go there for a romantic get-away but for a few days on the beach and within easy distance from Singapore it's not bad at all (imagine from central London you'd reach the North circular in the same time - wouldn't go there for a romantic get away either). The down-side of-course is that if you live in Singapore you're pretty likely to bump into someone you know! Last little comment. They make you pay your bill in Indonesian currency... at a fixed rate (ie not current market rate). Which means that my bill cost me an extra 5% compared to the original invoice which is given in SGD... Annoying.

One of the best hotels and services we have had in Asia.

Some renovation required.

Great beaches, nice pools, lots of things to do, golfing, tours around the island, beach sports - everything you could ever want. Very relaxing holiday location, nice local staff, and overall good value for money.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Mangrove tour very interesting, use mosquito spray.

beautiful location, great rooms, friendly staff.

All of the extras were ridiculously expensive, even by USA standards!

My husband and I booked at Bintan Lagoon Resort last minute and we're sure what to expect. The resort itself is beautiful, with sweeping landscapes and lovely views. Everyone was very helpful and nice, but the prices were way overblown. US$5 for an ice cream cone? US$50 for 1/2 hour on a jet ski? Some things were so overpriced we just laughed. But overall we loved our experience there and felt very relaxed. Oh, and the weather was wonderful. I'm from Hawaii and it felt like being at home!

English speaking staff/crew, Pools, LCD TV,

Absolutely NO early check-in. 3PM is it and the staff is firm about that.

The welcome they give you at the lagoon is appreciated. You are greeted by dancers and a cup of lemon tea when exiting the shuttle bus. There really is no point to arriving early unless you want to hang in the lounge or have lunch. Prices are resort prices, meaning expect to PAY MORE than usual for anything. Meals at the various restaurants on site typically in 30-60 SGD range but can be higher. There is a bar pool side which is convenient. I preferred the room service as the meals were tasty and not nearly as expensive. There is a mini-mart in the west wing if you want snacks or to buy 1.5 litre. The sea view room is nice but the garden view balconies look much better. The inside of rooms were clean just like hotel photo. The rooms are a nice walk away from the lobby with the exception of the floral suites. Great to hang out by pool but don't miss out on various beach activities or atv. Included breakfast is fine. Unless you rent your own car I don't know how you expect to get anywhere else besides the resort. BTW we hassled about not getting our room til 3pm sharp (arrived at 1pm). Then later while in room staff unlocked our door twice saying room was indicated vacant. Latch lock was luckily on but NOT COOL, we informed counter and it stopped.

Hotel Feature Tip : ask for renovated room in hotel booking. comfy shoes/sandals are a must, and hmmm bring sun block
