Quiet & Relaxing! Awesome Beach! Friendly & Helpful staff! Great food at the Spice Restaurant! Good complimentary breakfast buffet!

Cabins need to be updated, both bedside lamps needed new lighbulbs, the TV Remote didn't work, there was a hole in floorboards by the bathroom and a Creature under the floor made a lot of noise at night

The Mayang Sari was a good choice for our weekend in Bintan, the staff was great, as was the food and the fantastic beach. The only issue we had was with the little things in the seaview cabin. While very large, the bedside lamps were burnt out, the TV remote didn't work, there was a sizeable hole in the floorboards by the bathroom and some mysterious creature underneath the floorboards made it difficult to fall asleep. Let's just say that the cabins are in heavy need of updating but that really wouldn't deter us from going back as everything else met our expectations and made our weekend memorable.

Beautiful beach, friendly staff, nice big room

The food in the different restaurants is good, not excellent and quite pricey.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mayang Sari Beach Resort. The beach was beautiful and virtually deserted. The beach front room was comfortable, big and clean. The staff was friendly and caring about our needs. The food in the different restaurants is good, however not excellent and quite pricey. All in all, we really recommend this hotel for a pleasant weekend out of Singapore.

The chalet was very simple in decoration and yet cozy. Despite the summer holidays and the resort being full house, it does not feel like that at all. Ample space and beach area for all in the resort. Weather was great too!

Some of the furniture in the room was breaking, e.g. the bench on the verenda and our toilet seat had a crack. Coffee at the breakfast cafe could be better.

The whole 3 days getaway was a great experience. Have never regretted going to Mayang Sari. Been going there at least once a year since 2003. The beach is still great, the sand, waters and weather! Food at Kelong Restaurant was still very good, enjoyed the entire atmosphere & experience. Definitely recommend for people who need a short or even long getaway!

The location was very exotic.

The bed covers seemed to be a little old, to give the stay more luxurious feel beautiful, bedsheets and furniture should have been new.

The overall experience was worth the money we paid. The chalet was indeed at a very beautiful location. The staff was very friendly. But the chalet could have been decorated a little more luxuriously. The windy weather adds more fun to the time u spend there. There should be some nightlife around the chalet like bonfire and some dancing.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Please every body should try ATV ie. all terrain vehicle which has a very interesting trail. Most of the people miss it!!!!!!!!!!!

Location was excellent for seaview room. Staff were courteous and very helpful, even to the point of personally driving us to nearby other hotels, restaurants when we just missed the shuttle bus. Beach has smooth sand with not many shells (pokes feet) and many shallow zones for wading and safe swimming.

Furnishing in room seems old but still comfortable. Noisy music during late night, possibly from the Beach Club or some beach party, during my stay (25-27th Oct 08) ruined my sleep on both nights, leaving me and my partner tired the next day. This is bad and I hope the hotel takes note of this.

Mayang Sari seems positioned as a quiet relaxing getaway for those who don't mind paying premium prices to get a premium getaway. But frankly I feel it was a bit overpriced for the 3-day public holiday weekend I was there (~ +50% more than non-peak periods). Food and service are excellent and matches my expectations for a hotel of its class (4 stars?). Facility-wise, you'd have to travel to the nearby sister hotel sites like the Beach Club for water sports and Nirwana Garden Hotel for swim pools and more restaurants, as Mayang Sari is pretty bare in this respect. Crowd levels were low and I do not feel crowded out at any time.

The beach is very lovely and with clear water.

Rooms are too old, and it is not very clean overall.

quiet, large cottages

older bathrooms need updating

This was a nice place to stay in Bintan as it was not overrun with young kids. The cottages are built like duplexes with 1 common wall but each has its own private balcony out front. There are 2 restaurants onsite and they are good quality with a variety of foods. You are literally on the beach but it is a very quiet beach with few activities. You can walk down to the far end for activities rental but there was a big jellyfish danger when we were there. Perfect place to relax, eat and walk the beach. Not great if you are looking for daily activities or night life. Our bathroom was usable but quite old and stained. Staying here also allowed you use of the pool at the bigger partner hotel a short walk away.

Hotel Feature Tip : Watch the beach at dawn for some beautiful photo opportunities.

Each chalet is quite independent and can keep privacy.

Maybe Garden View Chalet can not see the sea but only Chalet.

Good place to stay for 2-3 days but if you stay more than 4 days you might get bored especially with the foods.

Restaurant Tip : Black Pepper Crab at The Kelong Restaurant is very good.

- Location was right on the beach. The Sea View Chalets sat on the beach so you could hear the waves each evening. - Hospitality of staff was amazing! It was my boyfriend's birthday and they came in the evening with a birthday cake, very unexpected. - Food was delicious - pretty average at Nirwana Resort; but go to the Thai restaurant next to Indra Maya Villas. - Water stunning - so warm and the jelly fish catchers made sure you weren't stung (we didn't even see one jelly fish over the 5 days we were there). - Feel free to use your breakfast voucher at Nirwana Hotel which has more variety than Mayang Sari and just as lovely people. - Take insect spray - the sand mosquitoes bite - 27 bites and counting! Especially when lying on the hammock in front of your villa.

- Price at the restaurants: for an Indonesian Island they used Singapore dollars and everything was expensive. We stocked up on breakfast hugely and then had dinner.

The Mayang Sari was the best! Lovely people, amazing staff, so quiet and peaceful - the beach is clean and very private. - The rooms are a rustic Indonesian feel and not luxurious by any means; however they provide you with fresh incense each day; fresh towels; fresh linen and the air conditioning makes it lovely. The rooms are a 3 star room. - Feel free to use all the Nirwana facilities - we went swimming at Nirwana pool as there is no pool at Mayang Sari - but you can use the Banyu Villas pool too and that is quieter than Nirwana Hotel as Nirwana has a lot of children and families. - Mayang Sari room service from Spice Restaurant is lovely - fresh, hot and cheap too! The Thai restaurant is to die for ... amazing tables on the beach. Just book for a Saturday night otherwise you miss out on the outside tables. - I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy a relaxing holiday ...

Restaurant Tip : - Spice Restaurant and Thai Restaurant next to Maya Indra Villas is the best for food. You are reliant on the prices they set and Nirwana is just too expensive, but Mayang Sari was much better priced. Except for breakfast - don't be afraid to use your Mayang Sari vouchers at Nirwana - they have more variety for the all you can eat buffet breakfast.
