food counter wasn't look after quickly enough,food was cold,choice was poor. The hotel location for us was very good indeed.The price too was well within our budget.The staff were very friendly at all times although the hotel was busy the staff found time to smile and were curtious at all times.The location for some good shopping was ideal for us and a good taxi service was available too assist us in our travel to the local shopping areas.The rooms were clean and fresh,linen was new and overall cleanlyness of the rooms was very high.clean bathrooms and plenty soaps etc to use.We would certainly return to this hotel if we came to Jakarta again.
Shopping Tip : Excellant shopping malls only 10 minutes away.

Easy to find/reach hotel, very friendly staffs including basement securities and receptionists, nice outside view from the room, clean bathroom. Located in the centre of the city, suitable for those who come for business or pleasure that your can reach northern or southern area easily. wishing a larger tv set, food taste and selection could be enhanced Arrived easily on 10 pm we showed our agoda online booking form which was accepted without problem. we were offered glass of lemonade as welcome drink. check in process is very easy and friendly, filled with smile and hospitality. The staff even offer which floor we'd like to stay. The room is quite good, clean with nice view to the outside, all tools in the bathrooms were working perfectly. Overall, we were satisfied during our short stay here and possibly go back and try other type of rooms.

Need more upkeeping.
No free wifi in the room, instead, only a cable connection which is means I cannot use my laptop sitting on the bed. The reason I choosed this hotel was because I wanted to get the first hand experience of a Design Hotel. But I was dissapointed the moment I took a seat at the lobby. The leather from the seat is cracking and peeling off and the marbles & granites on the wall and floor looks unpolished. The rooms was not up to my expectation of a designer's hotel too. The room was nothing to shout about. The workmanship of the finishing is not the best either.

excellent breakfast buffet
Great ambience Location and heavy traffic From the delightful minimalist boutique style, through the wonderfully designed indoor/outdoor coutyard with it's 6 frangipanis to the excellent buffet breakfast, complete with a range of tasty home-made jams, this hotel breathes comfort and homely feelings. A friendly staff and free internet access in rooms completes what is a very attractive package in central Jakarta
Restaurant Tip : Riung Sari, a Sunadese restaurant located on the main road just off Jl Peconongan, five minutes walk from the hotel, is well worth a visit

Good service & friendly attitude, clean room (although there is big noice in early morning from outside due to Muslim praying) The lift is only to 2nd floor but the entrance is at 1st floor which is not convinient. I stayed 6 nights at Alila for my business trip in Jakarta, and I really love this place. It's clean room with good service & the breakfast is also good.
This is a wonderful experience to me and I never forget it...

a bit far from city center
rooms are fine, but not as designed as rest of the hotel
the alila hotel is branded under design hotels. the lobby and common areas are nicely designed. the rooms are rahter simple, but still look fine.
the location is a biut off from the city center but every taxi driver knows the place. staff was always very helpful. good breakfast buffet. free internet in the room. all in all, good choice

I love the clean rooms, facilities, rates and the friendly and helpful hotel staff. Alila Hotel is truly a place where i can call 'Home' in Jakarta, 600 miles away from Singapore. At affordable rates, you get fantastically clean rooms, great facilities and service from very friendly and helpful hotel staff. It is also a perfect place to conduct business meetings and seminars as the infrastructure are all complete. A must stay for travellers going to Jakarta, be it holidays or business!
Nightlife Tip : Alexis hotel is just a 10mins taxi ride away and it has very interesting nightlife that one can experience!

nice design hotel and excellent food and drinks, also friendly people and taxi transportation service was very good and of course the nice view over the city. yes, the hotel is located in not so nice area, but you cannot change the place by removing the building, the most important thing is that you enjoy inside the hotel we stay at the Alila Hotel in Jakarta because of its location is near to the Monas and the Plaza Indonesia shopping. We have visited a view museums like History Museum and the National Museum. The view over the city was very nice and we enjoy very much the hotel and the services. If we visit Jakarta again maybe we will visit Alila again.

Excellent service, friendly staff and clean room. Towels are still not clean/white enough. Overall, I would highly recommended this hotel for value. The service is excellent, staff is friendly, location is good, room is clean and facilities are up to expectation. They have opened up more rooms on 11th floor onwards which is good for regular customer - upgrade. I would say this hotel is really value for money.
Nightlife Tip : Very close to Chinatown which is the center of entertainment in central Jakarta.

good internet, wood floors in rooms, clean AC control didn't shut-off (very common in Jakarta) These hotel rooms feel cleaner than the average because of lovely wood floors, instead of the usual carpets that retain odors. Executive room has free internet with real broadband. A 2nd breakfast is included without extra charge, so you can invite someone to join you. (Though a 3rd breakfast is >$15!) Lobby does not hassle you for buying drinks. Pleasant service from the staff -- front desk, restaurant, etc.
Restaurant Tip : This street is famous for the Chinese restaurants which set up every night on the sidewalks.

Convenient location. I arrived late at night for my one night stay, and had to depart early the next day, so I didn't get much chance to really explore the hotel. But, given that, I had a very pleasant stay. The room was comfortable and quiet, so I had no trouble getting a good night's sleep. The pool and gym looked good when I glanced in, but I didn't get a chance to use them.
The location is rather good. On a map, the Alila is on the 'wrong' side of Jakarta, but it's easy to get to.

The excellent service from the hotel staff, right up from the bell boy and reception, etc. Service was prompt and definitely efficient. We had chosen Alila from most of the positive reviews we had read online. Though it was not all positive, we decided to give it a try and was definitely not disappointed. The lobby staff especially never failed to greet you and effortlessly managed to open doors for each customer that walks pass the doors. It is definitely a choice hotel to come back to!

Free internet broadband, good location, friendly staffs and confortable bed. I noticed that the cleanliness of the towels in the bathroom has deterioted substantially. They used to be very clean and white but now it's pretty dark and not white anymore. It give me the impression that the hotel housekeeping is cutting down on cleaning detergent usage or using low grade cleaning detergent. I have been staying in this hotel for the last 4 years, on and off. I noticed the cleanliness of the linen especially towel has deterioted significantly in my last visit. My impression is that the hotel is cutting down on detergent usage or downgrading to lower grade detergent. I really don't feel comfortable using the towels in the hotel anymore.
Restaurant Tip : Plenty of nice local seafood restaurant nearby.

- Good Spa This hotel has an Excellent breakfast, my best ever! there are about 5 cooks working on a western/asian dimsum-toast-nasi breakfast, even the juices and coffees are good!
The rooms are clean and the Spa is good.
I don't have (m)any cons, but if i have to say something: the location, it is not really in the city centre. but jakarta's nightlife isnt that special at all.
