it was third time to stay there. basically, i'm really satisfied all my staying. but this time, i couldn't stay double bed room, although i would like to do.
hotel staff said at the check-in counter that they could offer double bed room if a room is available. but i couldn't get it during my staying.

Luxurious with a French twist

i had a lovely stay at the gran mahakam. the rooms are tastefully decorated in a parisian style, super comfortable and luxurious. i loved the rooftop pool with palm trees and a fantastic view of the jakarta city skyline. but the best part of the hotel has to be the buffet breakfast- it was amazing. you can eat anything & everything, with the food top quality & the staff attentive.
Restaurant Tip:
Don't skip the buffet breakfast whatever you do!

i arrived the hotel a little earlier than scheduled, but the staff kindly arrange a room without any stress.
there are some nice korean, japanese and chinese restaurant within walking distance.

Everything in this boutique hotel is small, but tastefully done up. Breakfast menu could do with more synergy in the planning, e.g. Western choices are a bit bizarre.

i almost tried every room types in this hotel, and this one is the most memorable one. my room was actually a loft, with the bed actually on upstairs. but this room is smaller than the room one type below this one. anyway, gran mahakam is my home in jakarta, great hotel!
Nightlife Tip:
Be careful when you outing at night, many drugs areirculating especially if you're a woman.

It is one of the best hotel you could find in South Jakarta. Strategically located near shopping center and restaurant. Heart of city is only 10 minutes away. A good choice for a getaway.

My husband and I travel regularly to Jakarta for work and catching up with friends. Mahakam is our home away from home as the boutique nature of the hotel promises comfort, familiarity of surroundings, and staff that greet you like family and are helpful in every way. The buffet breakfast offers different choices of local food delights every day and the Japanese restauran Aoki never fails to satisfy. The hotel's strategic location on the cusp of South and Central Jakarta makes for ease of travel. The 7-11 store just down the road and the pharmacy right next door are convenient for picking up emergency supplies or items you forgot to pack.
