poor organisation, impersonal, expensive internet access.
upon arrival room was not ready took half an hour before we could go to the room and key cards didnt work. nice pool and lounge bar with good band playing.

Possibly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.
Good selection of tv channels.
Staff very helpful.
Extermely clean and well kept.
Good security.
Rubbish, dirty area.
Pool too small, pool bar wasn't open.
Hotel bars far too posh to be comfortable.
Smoking floor stinks.
Not so much the hotel, but the area. If you're a tourist / weekend visitor, stay in Kemang instead. Much more to do, cleaner, better selection of bars and especially restaruants.
Hotel itself is very nice and has good facilities, etc. Room service has a good selection and is reasonably priced.
I was unfortunately put in a room on the smoking floor and the corridor had a strong stale tobacco smell (obviously to be expected). The room was much cleaner.
Nightlife Tip : Avoid Blok M bars, go to Kemang instead.
Also, Jakarta traffic is awful - give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination.

Nice rooms, good lobby ambience, feel safe
The hotel has good security, it is not too big so it is managebable. The concierge and reception service is also good. At this rate you cannot ask for more. The service is a good as those in the 5 star hotels in central jakarta.

Room is nice decorated . To access hotel is very convenient. Coffee shop and restaurant are very comfort.
Bath should be more clean and improved. Gate hotel access to be improved.

Nice interior, Good room service, professional staff
Location not ideal for those who prefer to move around on foot.
This hotel is value for money, at this rate there is no better hotel than this. The hotel is owned by a local tycoon, so it should be safe against terrorism. The hotel also notes down all numbers and ensure that the destination is properly conveyed to the taxi drivers. I would recommend this hotel for anyone going to Jakarta.

Gran Maham offers 5 star quality in a boutique setting.Rooms are well appointed and tasteful, not 'just another room'.Food and bar outlets in an intimate setting.You can walk to many other food outlets nearby,but watch your step, as few pavements!Location south of the city may be less convenient for those who have business downtown

Small is beautiful! Obviously a top of the range hotel. Quality of room was exceptionally high. Staff friendly and helpful.Towels changed in the evening if needed.Newspaper and bowl of fruit provide a nice personal touch. Good range of food for both breakfast and dinner.
Management have an eye for detail.
Plenty of restaurants close to the hotel and shopping malls if you need them.
A little expensive especially the wine. But I guess you get what you pay for.
My stay through Agoda was a short term trial of one week before negotiating for several months stay. I had spent 3 months at a nearbye hotel which although cheaper was not of the quality of the Mahakam. As a result of the performance of this hotel I have now contracted to stay until next year. And I may very well extend my contract if current standards are maintained. The hotel is providing a car to take me back and forth to work - a nice personal touch.
Restaurant Tip : Try the Koi Restaurant just next door to the hotel. For food quality and ambience I dont think you will find better in the locality

- As a tourist it may not be the best spot as there didn't seem to be much within walking distance. However taxis were readily available.
I stayed at the Gran Mahakam for two nights on a business visit to Jakarta. The hotel is impressive internally and the rooms were of a decent size and very clean and tidy.
As a business guest the internet is an important aspect. Whilst an additional cost the internet connection was fast.
The buffet breakfast was reasonable with the standard 'egg station' and everything else that you would expect.
This was my first stay at the Gran Mahakam and I was pleasently surprised. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will likely stay there again.
Restaurant Tip : The Japanese restaurant Aoki within the hotel complex was fantastic. Food was fresh and the size of the meals was just right.

Elegant, lovely rooms, good breakfast, nice pool
Received great value for money at this hotel after booking through Agoda.
Had a small problem when we arrived to check-in, it was late at night and they tried to put us in a smoking room. This was not acceptable but the only other room they had available was a twin. Eventually they did have another king sized non smoking room.
After that everything was very smooth, the rooms were lovely, comfortable beds, clean. The breakfast was worth the money and the staff were helpful and friendly.

three nites stay at Grand Mahakam Hotel make me satisfy. Because of the room cleanliness, friendly staff and foos quality is good too. When check in, it takes time because of proofing legality Agoda voucher. Need improvement at this part. Dont let guest waiting too long. Vallet parking staffs very nice to us. affordable price too. Sadly, outside hotel at week end many prostitues at nite. Make uncomfortable. Sorry to say that.

I have stayed here twice now and enjoyed it both times. Although it is a long way from the airport, it is close to shopping and restaurants. the building is very well maintained, clean and has a rich old world charm. The pool is small but pleasant. The staff could not be more friendly and helpfull.
Shopping Tip : Shopping mall an easy few minutes walk from hotel with many excellent shops

Booked the executive suite, got the very small room with duplex, they did not give the big one.
We have a warm refrigirator.
Nice hotel,the refrigirator was warm/hot instead of cold.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Customer needs the big, nice room with working refrigirator, not a wam one.

Easy access, near the Blok M mall and also there are lots of restaurants around the hotel.
The swimming pool is also very cozy with beautiful ambience.
The breakfast is great, lots of variation and very delicious.
Might need to improve service in terms of speed and hospitality.
Overall, the hotel is great. The only thing I would like to suggest to the hotel is improve the hospitality both from reception desk and customer service officers.
Guests might come with varied complaints or demands, but the hotel should not show their impatience and kindly listen thoroughly to what guests have to say in order to avoid misunderstanding, especially if there is a language barrier.
