-staff very friendly, food in dinning room is very good,
-booked a superior room, which we found out doesn't come with a bathtub! The room needs attention, as in an upgrade. Curtains had holes in them, bathroom felt dingy.
Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff. Check in was easy and again front desk staff were helpful. I was disappointed with the room. It was in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint especially the bathroom. The light in the bathroom doesn't seem to turn off when the Ving card is in the holder on the wall. I think it is time for the management to consider refreshing the rooms!
Hotel Feature Tip : Was very pleased with the menu selection and meals were tasty and well presented

Full on breakfasts - excellent way to fuel up for the day.
Can't hear any mosque chanting in the night, BIG selling feature
Room was not as flash as on the website, always a toughy when the Hotel shows the one of two refurbshed rooms on the website then shows you to the ones that have been around since kingdom come...
I would also have liked to be able to use only a few minutes at a time on the internet and then come back and use the rest, or even better why not just provide it free of charge in the Busines centre??
Overall a good experience with friendly staff who don't seem too overtly to be aiming for tips.
As mentioned previously, it's always a bit disappointing to see the newly refurbished rooms on the web photos and then arrive to find that you have the 1970's version... However not a big issue really, and I did love the HUGE buffet breakfasts available.
If you're not travelling with your computer then the Business Centre has some restrictions, maybe they'll open it up soon and provide free access as a lot of other Indonesian Hotels do???
Restaurant Tip : If you stay here then there's a fabulous place to eat just up the road (right out of the hotel, walk for two / three minutes and it's on the left hand side at the first interesection you come to.
I don't recall the name of the restaurant but it's such an inviting haven directly across the road from the (ugh!!) McD's and KFC etc that i'm sure you'll find it. Providing excellent local food, wonderful location and reasonable prices, it's an appealing open to the air courtyard (do bring insect repellent).

Many good resto around the hotel.
Not much menu to serve for breakfast.
At the end, the hotel is good, clean and close to city. It takes only 10 minutes to department store.
Nightlife Tip : Just turn right and take a walk about five minutes you can see a good and best dim sum in town.

Grand Kemang has had a major facelift in the not distant past and all public areas are very presentable.
Staff are eager to please and very pleasant. Doorman are always ready to assist.
Rooms, while aging, are still serviceable.
Breakfast offers a wide selection, however the standard varies greatly. Our first morning we had difficulty finding anything palatable. Second morning must have been different cook as there was little comparison.
Internet, when working, in the rooms is good, hitting download speeds of 1Mb/sec.
Many shops and restaurants near by.
Restaurant Tip : If you like authentic Indonesian food, try Payon near to the hotel. Cheap & very good food.

The hotel lobby has been renovated in the last decade, and the restaurant is reasonably decent. Easy to catch taxis from this hotel.
Downright rude behavior from hotel reception staff; many or most rooms are dingy.
I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last 14 years, and I'm sorry to report that its recent renovation -- aside from a few new rooms -- hasn't been enough to make up for a general decline in room cleanliness, quality, and service.
Although most of the hotel employees are friendly and competent, I am very sorry to report that the general hotel management does no longer treats its guests with respect and decency. As mentioned, I have visited this hotel, sometimes for long stays, on numerous occasions for the last 15 years. I dress and behave as the professional executive that I am, I speak Indonesian, and am culturally sensitive; I think it can be said that I am anything but a rude guest. However, my checkout from the hotel was the single rudest episode I have ever experienced at a place of lodging. I had an early flight, so decided to settle the bill the night before. For some reason, they chose not to believe me when I told them I had not used the minibar, despite the fact that I had given then absolutely no reason whatsoever to doubt my word. I told them to check my room immediately, which confirmed that I had not used any items from the minibar. To add to the insult, they then decided to remove all items from the minibar so I would not steal them in the remaining 8 hours before I actually departed. I have never been so insulted at a hotel in my life, and I told them in no uncertain terms that I would never again stay at their hotel.
Unless you want to be treated as a suspected thief, I cannot recommend that you stay at the Grand Kemang Hotel. Shockingly rude, and appalling.

Good location. The hotel is placed in a lively area but no noise from outside can be heard in the room. The room was clean and the staff pleasant and helpful. The breakfast buffet is an absolute must!!
The swimming pool is overlooked by all restaurants and common areas. Basically all eyes are on you, which can be rather unpleasant if you are not out there to steel the show.
No maps of the area were available from the hotel for the two days I stayed, which is a big problem when you do not know your way around in the area.
The location in the south of Jakarta is well chosen. The area is lively and outgoing and it is not far from the sports complex in Senayan. I can also recommend Block M for shopping. The restaurant Sate House Senayan, around the corner from the hotel serves excellent Indonesian food and has a good selection of fruit juices.
Inside the hotel, the superior room was a good size. The interior of the room was slightly classic compared to the modern look of the common areas.
The D Lounge is great for a coffee during the day or a drink in the evening if you have time to kill. The Pub restaurant has the real "pub"-feel to it. The staff is young and hip. You can play pool and there are big screens to keep up to date on sports events. They have a small food menu and it takes a rather long time to prepare the food...so do not be pressed for time.
Travel tip : The area is lively and outgoing and it is not far from the sports complex in Senayan. I can also recommend Block M for shopping. The restaurant Sate House Senayan, around the corner from the hotel serves excellent Indonesian food and has a good selection of fruit juices.

Relatively handy location for the business travelers, with good access to lots of restaurants in the evening.
Very comfortable rooms.
No gym or spa, if you need that sort of thing.
Very sprawling layout can make it difficult to find a room.
The Grand Kemang hotel is rather good for what it is - a sleekly fitted out "boutique" hotel. The location in South Jakarta is 20 to 30 minutes away (depending on Jakarta's horrendous traffic) from the central business area around Sanayan and Semaggi. The best thing about the hotel may be all the restaurants that are just a short stroll away from the front door - so you don't have to deal with traffic at all if you want to dine out at a nice restaurant in the evening.
Restaurant Tip : A new small arcade full of restaurants is just a five minute walk from the hotel. There are several cuisines to choose from, from Thai to Turkish, as well as a couple of coffee shops.

room was great, clean, hotel was gorgeours...
The hotel was clean, big rooms and the toilet quite nice. the hotel is a good spot for people who likes to party, just a walking distance from a great club called triple9. The hotel is also near to the supermarket, and the food by the road site was nice and cheap too. There is also a club called centro, but u need to take a cab there and its around 5 min ride.
Nightlife Tip : Tripple9 and Centro

we did't like any selling points of the hotel very old and dirty kitchen rear entry to kitchen was dirty to.
Staf was very friendly but management is not very good what they doing to run that place they alove people to smoke while they eat they meal it is no no.
We stayed in no smoking floor but air condition circulates the smoke from other areas in to all the rooms including kitchen smell I ask them to do some thing about it but nothing has been done We ask for a bathroom scale to weigh but they said they don't have one we also ask for one more chair but they said they don't have one. This hotel is in very bad position it is in lower ground out side, pollution is bad, double lane goes to single lane not very far from hotelcars and that 3 wheel transports make a lot of smoke and hotel is surrounded with night clubs and restaurants saturday night is no sleep night all the noise and the cooking smel made us hard to breathe .I was hoping we will have baht tub but we only had shower and drains did smell. We had a joining room some body drilled holes true the doors from other side in to our room to spy us with mini camera I told the staf they put a putty in our door but not to other side and nothing has been done to person who was responsible I am not very happy about it you must not recomend that place to others.

The only good thing about the hotel is the area which is quite in the middle of everywhere and surrounded by lots of entertainment such as restaurants, hair salon, bars, banks etc.
Make sure they put you in the renovated rooms because the old rooms are so dirty and having strong odor coming out from the toilet, not to mention dirty bed sheet and lousy furniture.
Take a note... when we book the rooms here through travel agents they will assign us those old and shaggy rooms. Don't take it unless they change your room to the new rooms like what we did on out last stay. We changed our rooms 4 times, so the first 2 because they gave us old, stinky, shaggy rooms then we got new rooms until we were realize that our rooms was above the very loud disco. Then they asked us to changing rooms again since we couldn't sleep at 2am with those house music sound outside our room. The whole hotel needs to be revise seriously... so i am not really recommending this hotel if you wanna come to sleep and relaxing aside from its perfect location!
Restaurant Tip : Right next to the left it has a very nice Japanese restaurant then another terrific Tamani cafe where you can have your meal while watching your kids playing in their playground. Go further there's German restaurant and those italian restaurant.
Go to your right from the hotel it has lots of quick food rest and go little further you will find 1 building filled with lots of restaurants and bars.... all of that is at only walking distances.

convenient location.
friendly & efficient staff.
iron & board not available in-room.
electronic safe not available in-room.
rooms (on Level 4) aren't in good condition.
My experience at this hotel was rather mixed. On one hand, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and it is located near a shopping centre and clubs. On the other hand, I found that the condition of the room was less than satisfactory. There was also a bit of a stale smell in the room - something you wouldn't expect in a non smoking room.
Restaurant Tip : some local restaurants and several cafes (with Wifi) are located within walking distance.
