still one of the best hotel in Jakarta
greeny garden, good swimming pool, good breakfast
If U have to live in City center of Jakarta, Borobudur Hotel is one of the best to avoid traffic jam. Althought this hotel is a bit old, but have good maintenance so still good. The room is a bit too small but very clean. Perfect breakfast

longstanding favorite
location, price, breakfast
I used to live in Jakarta, so am familiar with the Borobudur from way back when. Jakarta has 2-3 hotels that were at one time under one of the big international hotel management arrangements, and the Borobudur is one of those (I think it was an Intercontinental, formerly). What typically happens is that you have these big, nice businessmen's hotels in central locations that eventually drop out of the big management arrangements because they do not want to spend so much on maintenance and upgrades. But the Borobudur is still in good shape. One of its hidden strengths is that it has great sports facilities, if travellers are interested in that. Its location is more convenient for visiting government offices than the business community, because in the past 20 years much of the business community has moved 2-3 miles south into the Central Business District (and travel time is a concern in Jakarta because of traffic). Lots of decent in-hotel restaurants with reasonable prices. My favorites still for lunches in descending order are probably the Borobudur's Japanese, Italian and Chinese restaurants.

Oasis in central Jakarta
Swimming pool and garden, staff friendliness, food
I have stayed a number of times at the Borobudur. Its big attraction for me is a 50 metres swimming pool and large gardens quite near to the centre of Jakarta. It is so peaceful after dealing with Jakarta all day long.

Great location and clean room
Large room, friendly reception and location
The check in was very fast and the room is clean. The breakfast lack variety and some food is not so fresh. Anyway for short stay, this is an ideal location.
