The Tamarin Jakarta is a good value for money hotel. It is suited for short stays. The room size is fair. Bathroom is clean and everything works as it should. Hotel staff is helpful. City center at walking distance. If you have just arrived in Jakarta after an intercontinental flight of more than 12 hrs you should avoid the rooms situated on the side of the pool/bar, where live music can be heard at night.

Good value for money, rooms are on the small side but neat and tidy, good breakfast buffet, and the hotel is not far from the big shopping malls. The area in front of the hotel though is not very inviting, but would stay at this hotel again if I were to travel to Jakarta.

The neighbourhood is a bit rowdy and streets are not clean for sidewalking. Traffic busy and streets and pavements dirty leading to hotel.
- Shopping Tip : Most of the shopping malls and nice hotels are within walking distance. Takes about 15 minutes or two blocks away to reach franchised foods such as Pizza Hut, McDonald's, Starbucks Cafe, etc.
