Upon checking in at 12.30am on the 20th (or 21st morning), I was rather annoyed at the idea of having to pay for the theme park entrance fee. Naturally, I gave the staff there a hard time which they took rather calmly and professionally. Eventually, I ended up not having to pay for the said fee.
The point here is, I was rather pleased at the way the staff handled the situation and it goes to show how effective the hotel is at giving customer satisfaction.
The friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel security, which makes our stay more at ease.
Having to pay entrance fee every time one gets in and out of the theme park.
Stained bed linens.

If you prefer a seaside resorts for your stay in Jakarta, this hotel is great for that.
We were very surprised with the absolutely friendly staff in the hotel and around.
Location is not an ideal one. Because the transfer to the city centre takes nearly 30 minutes. The rooms are newly refurbished. But the bathroom looks very old. Beds very comfortable and the A/C is quiet and efficient.
Here you get the international standard 4-star hotel from the Mercure-chain.
For all we would definitly come back. I will recommend this hotel.
+ Quiet location close to the sea.
+ Many activities around. Because the
hotel lies inside a big area with the
seaworld, great restaurant for fresh seafood
and and many else.
+ Sailing, windsurfing, boot rental everythings
possible.
+ Staff very friendly and helpful.
+ Breakfast buffet with a good selection of food.
+ Rooms refurbished.
+ Kids-club and a nice facilities for table
tennis, snooker, basketball.
+ Free cable-Internet in the rooms.
- Definitely far away from the city-center of
Jakarta.
- Bathroom needs to be refurbished.
- Restaurant Tip : I would recommend a seafood restaurant in the Ancol-area. About 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Freshly cooked fish which the guests choose by themselves. Price about 10 US Dollar for 1 person for dinner.

We would stay at the Ancol Mercure hotel again with its nice location in a relaxing atmosphere. The lobby was a relaxing and enjoyable place to relax and the breakfast buffet was fabulous. Our bathroom needs an overhaul and the linens could also be upgraded. There were lots of options available for time with families, so we would consider going with our family another time. The pool facilities were great for all ages. Overall we were pleased with our stay at Mercure Hotel in Ancol.
We enjoyed the hotel location- in the Ancol theme park which is right on the ocean, with lots of walking space and places to just relax. The hotel has a nice lobby and wonderful buffet. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and there was security which is nice for the foreigners. Breakfast was not included with our bill, but they included the wonderful breakfast buffet with our stay.
The hotel is a bit aged. Our room was clean, but the bathroom could definitely use a face lift. We loved our superior king bed, but like hotels that use both top and bottom sheets, as well as sheets that are the right size for the bed. The sheet was not a king size sheet.
- Nightlife Tip : The Bandara Restaurant in the Ancol complex is a great place to eat or hang out in the evenings.
