Nice Deluxe room with a good 8 foot tall glass window. I was on 10th floor and so had 4 quality good night sleep (alone). Hotel Reception check in and out was fast and efficient, very courteous services.
The Mercure Rekso Hayam Wuruk was centrally located in the old "Chinatown", entertainment and business center. Foreigners who seldom set foot in Asian country may find the ambiam street not desire as it is dirty, choatic traffic, constant hassling by passer-by, personal safety concerns. However, for those who get used to the street smart scene, you would find the location of the hotel idea in the mid price range hotel. In front of the hotel is the bus stop for TransJakarta which may come in handy. However, with the cheap taxi fare there is no point in taking bus. The hotel is neat, clean, tastefully decorated. Recommended for single traveller who looks for fun and excitement.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Just 10 minutes walk away from the hotel (on the Gajah Mada road) is a museum that has spectacular architechure and decorations. It is worth a visit to see how the rich live in the the ancient time.

Good Location. Right in front of the bus stop where you can travel and avoid the infamous Jakarta traffic jam. Nearby food centers and entertainment centers.
Bad condition bathtub and swimming pool. Jacuzzi pool was not working.
Lacation is very good, right in front of the bus stop whereby you can take the bus and avoid the infamous Jakarta traffic jams as they have special bus lanes. It is also very near to food centers and entertainment. But the management should consider refurbishing the pool area. The bathtub is absolutely a disaster as there were stains everywhere. Requested for it to be cleaned but it didn't happen. What I like most abt the hotel is the location. Other that that there is nothing worth mentioning. It's just another business class hotel.
Nightlife Tip : Entertain centers in the hotel surrounding.

A tall highrise impressive reception area with a dome skylight stainglass structure
breakfast is not included in the basic fares. Did not have FOXNews channel on TV
As you drive along Jln Hayam Wuruk you would think what in the world I am doing here with stinky open sweyer drain, congested and chaotic traffic (cars going the wrong way without headlights on)... then as you pull into the hotel driveway, the worldly view changed to a 4 start hotel setting. The hotel room is just like any other 3 star hotel. Room amenities are pretty standard. Only 4 of the 6 elevators lift are running during my two days stays in the hotel. The receptionists are wonderful and they are courteous. The check in and checkout are a brief. If I could not find anywhere cheaper the next time I might stay at the Mercure Rekso again.
Nightlife Tip : There are tons of entertainment provided you walk in a group of 4 to 6 persons. There are spas, massage, relexi, KaraOK singing, shopping, Chinese resto nearby.

Excelent location
Nice Hotel with excellent location. Good food around the hotel. Rooms are relatively clean and big. upgrading the lifts currently so I presume this hotel will be more of an attraction when it is done.
there is a holland Bakery situated right opposite the hotel.This readily allows one to purchase breakfast easily

good services, good live band
very thing is ok, but not really good, the room is very big, very clean, but have something need to be improve. hot water is very hot, have savety locker, have more than 20 channels with the TV. the services people is very friendly and helpful and polite, they also can understand english very well. Hotel localation is good, very close to restertant.

This hotel suits people who like to wait. Previous reviews have noted the wait for the lifts and they have put in a couple of new lifts, but it has not solved the problem. Expect to wait and wait and wait and then have the one that arrives filled with staff members with trolleys of luggage, bin liners of filthy garbage or dirty plates. On one occasion I stood for almost ten minutes with a dozen guests and one apologetic staff member for the lift to arrive and not all of us could fit in when it did.
The staff did not seem particularly interested in the guests. I kept getting woken up at 8:30 in the morning by someone requesting laundry even though I had not indicated a desire for some to be picked up. One one occasion I went down to the lobby and found the place deserted. There was no bell boy to get me a taxi, no one on desk.
The Kota location is good if you want this part of town and it is next to the Transjakarta stop.

Room is well lit, clean, and large enough to accomodate whole family. They also have a great room service.
There are some unfinished renovation in some areas, including unworking lifts.
This hotel is great to do business, very near to Glodok. But you need to drive slowly, the sign is small and easily missed. They have a spacious lobby to meet, and quite nice meal. Rooms are newly renovated, with good interior to relax and doing business. Near hotel, there are great places to eat, as an alternative to hotel's own restaurant.

The two new skylifts are working.
Everything was excellent. from checkin to checkout. the room was clean, housekeeping was efficient. FREE INTERNET. Safe and efficient taxis (bluebird) outside
At the present moment there are refurnishment on the lower floor, but never heard the noise. I think the new management is doing an excellent job with the hotel and it staff, this is my second time, staying at this hotel, and it wouldnt be the last.
The slight problem is it is far from the big shopping mall, hotel is in the north of jakarta, malls in the south. 20mins from hotel by bus (transjakarta busway) longer by taxis. I would stay at this hotel again
Travel tip : Use the busway outside the hotel to travel through jakarta. it cheap and fast. try to use taxis as last resort. Taxis...only use BLUEBIRD.

Hotel under construction, therefore a challenge for westerners on business. Dismal elevator service, no response to broken shower after 3 complaints, no basic drinks in bar, cold meals, poor cleaning in room, unpoliced smoking on non-smoking floor.
Convenient if you like to be in the nightclub district, but hell for people who want to walk to the nearby shops. The only feature of the hotel was the natural friendliness of the staff - but that's Indonesia all over. A smile makes up for a thousand difficulties. Elevators were nearly all out of service. After reporting the broken shower in my room 3 times, I gave up. It was never fixed. The clean towels were poor quality and smelled bad. Paper and plastic was left uncleaned (under my bed) for 3 days. For 3 nights, the bad had no basic spirits (not a drop of vodka or cognac!) There was nowhere to eat after 11pm, leaving me to wander hoplelessly into the hot, unfamiliar road outside. Not nice for non-Indonesians. No warm, 'hospitality' feeling offered by any staff. I was on a non-smoking floor, filled with smokers. I got the feeling this was a hotel that was being pulled down rather than being rebuilt. It came with high recommendations, but it was a total disappointment. But, I still love Indonesia and Indonesian people.

no western style eatery nearby. A very difficult area to walk around--blocked sidewalks and very crowded.
On our first visit to 'The Big Durian', we picked the Mecure because we knew the chain to be reliable. We were disappointed the breakfast was not included, and quite expensive by Indonesian standards. The hotel was under renovation, with two of the four elevators out of service. The waits were too long, the elevators were too slow. The hotel area was suited to taxis or a very nearby bus stop, but quite difficult to walk in. Price notwithstanding, we wouldnever stay at this hotel again.

Friendly and Helpful Receptionist and Bellboy
Overall I found that the hotel room is clean/
but shopping area is quite far
With friendly and helpful staffs around make my stay in the hotel happy especially the morning breakfast served with local and western set and i relaxed for quite sometimes sitting in the restaurant. Anyway I might come back to Jakarta and stayed here again.

the hotel should let the guest have a slighty late check out when the guest inform them that their flight is a bit later in the night, if the hotel rooms are not full, i think this will make them stay here again, as other near by hotel let their guest have a late check out like 4pm without charges, if their hotel rooms are not full when reguested.
hope that they can alson inclued the breakfast with we book through the internet, as we will not aware that I need to pay extra for it.

The room was clean, furniture was well maintained, with King size bed... good view of north jakarta. A 2min walk to the efficient busway.
Taxis (blue bird) are outside.
Checkin/checkout was fast no hassle..
I know, my room rate was low, but it would be nice if breakfast was included.
Lifts only two in the hotel which is shared with housekeeping etc. I think there are building and adding two more lifts..
Overall i stay in this hotel for 4 nights, the room was actually on par or better than other 4/5 star hotel in the city espcially (Seri Pan Pacific) where I stay suffer allegies frm excess dust. So if you want a good clean hotel room and cheap.. go to this hotel.
Restaurant Tip : Pizza hut, cake shop and chinese resturant is on the right of the hotel 5/8min walk. Also on the right of hotel 10min walk.. there is a large mall LTC i think.. inside there is a huge supermarket (Giant) same as Carrefour..

This hotel is located in the city center close to shops, restaurants, etc. It is very clean and the staff are polite and helpful.
If I am being 'picky' I tend to prefer rooms in which you have the option of opening the window,etc. This was not possible in the room we stayed in but the air conditioning system did a great job.

We only stayed there for one night and regrettably did not make use of the gym and swimming pool facilities.
There were no significant negative comments I can make for my stay in this hotel.
Restaurant Tip : Nice Chinese restaurant less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Seafood selection was great there if you're into that sort of thing.

Hotel is located near exhibition convention center and cheap shoppping Magga Dua Area. High standard shopping mall like Plaza Indonasia are 15 minutes from hotel Taxi are cheap. Takis are easily available at hotel and staff help with Taxi driver to explain him where you are willing to go.Reception staff is excellent with smiling face and late check out upto 2 is free if you request. Higher floors have city view and big window. Bed is very comfy.Toilet are small but quite ok. Free internet in all areas n room was good.Hotel seems to be under renovation as it is old hotel but no noise problem in rooms. Mini Bar in room is bit expensive. Overall in 50$ excellent value of money.
Travel tip : there are lots of good restaurents around high n cheap end on walking distance.Opposite to hotel there is Holland Bakery with excellent stuff use walking flyover.
