Novotel Mangga Dua - a good choice
near airport, reasonable rate, outstanding hospitality.

despite the low quality of water in the hotel and located in flood prone area, Novotel Mangga Dua is an excellent hotel that provide 5 star performance with 3 star rate. The facilities are comparable to 5 star hotel especially the swimming pool, and the staff hospitality is compared to none. Although the food in the hotel is nothing to shout about but there are plenty of local restaurants nearby that can whet any guest appetite.

The hotel located side by side with a big shopping center and Jitech conference room.
The room is quite clean and acceptable.

This hotel actually is good, the occupancy always high. The access from and to Hotel from the shopping center quite complicated and far.
Restaurant Tip:
Many good food outside the hotel in the shopping center. You can check in without breakfast if you like and enjoy the authentic food surrounding with cheaper price off course.

Stay at Novotel Mangga Dua

The Novotel hotel at Mangga Dua is very strategically located, particularly if you are looking at easy no-fuss access to and from the airport, or to go to nearby Ancol theme and marina park, or to do some shopping at the Mangga Dua Square (which is literally downstairs from the Hotel itself!). The hotel itself is not particularly charming but will serve its purpose if you are a business or leisure traveller in Jakarta.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
This hotel is ideal if you are planning to spend your time at the Ancol Theme Park with your family or connect to Bandung by taking a mini van from Mangga Dua Square.

The hotel itself is well run with helpful staff and well appointed rooms. I was upgraded to a larger room but unfortunately the room was facing the setting sun. This made the room very hot even when I returned to it at 6pm. The aircon was not functioning properly (was not cold even at min tempreture) but was fixed after a call to the front desk. The only grouse is the expensive WiFi. At Rp90,000 for one hour and Rp130,000 for 24 hrs, it's too expensive if one needs only to use for an hour or so. Didn't have any meals in hotel so no comments there. Overall, not a bad place to stay if you do not need to go into town. The shopping mall attached to the hotel is big but the products offered are low quality.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The hotel pool is among the largest I've seen. Check it out.

Novotel Mangga Dua - value for money
value for money, outstanding staff service and nice swimming pool.

I can't find a hotel with 3 star rate but with 5 star hospitality and facilities. The location of the hotel is very ideal where it's near the aiport and only 25 minutes drive away. The facilities is 5 stars and staff hospitality is outstanding. For family vacation, there is the Ancol Family Entertainment centre nearby and there are also plenty of local restaurants to choose from.

it's a very affordable and worth every dollar spent. The facilities is 5 stars especially the swimming pool and guest service. The F&B in the hotel is reasonable but there are plenty of local restaurants to choose from nearby. For family vacation, there is the Ancol family entertainment center where there are theme parks for all ages.

My first experience in this hotel is generally good. except that when we ask for early checl in they're not so flexible in handling and had to wait for at least 2 hrs. And after waiting they didnt come back to us. I guess they're lack of staff to handle a full occupany rate. The otel food is pretty lousy compare to any other hotel or other Novotel group hotel. Quite disappointing and not much variety and taste are not great at all.
Restaurant Tip:
a nice and good chinese restaurant forund at next door shopping mall.
