Total confusion. A chaotic hotel.
It is just in a walking distance from the convention centre.
It took one hour to check in though there was no queue. The group in front of me was kept waiting for about 45 minutes and me 15 minutes. The receptionist seemed not to be trained or maybe the computer system has something wrong. I reserved for two nights from Japan but they insisted it was just one night and for the additional night they did not offer me the same rate as the first night but asked for an incredibly high rate which I had to accept. The breakfast was terrible as well. The atmosphere was like one star like a local 20 dollar class hotel. Apparently most of the customers were local people who do not know the western manners. I felt really uncomfortable.

substantial value
[1] central location near business area. [2] beautiful surroundings. [3] substantial value for cenrtal jakarta.
my stay was overall quite good.. very centrally located in jkta (cant ask for a better central jkta location). large and spacious rooms. tremendous buffet breakfast. friendly accommodating staff. excellent restaurants. many, many positives. some negatives would be that you cant walk to anywhere (taxis a must always though in plentiful supply) and it is huge so one can sometimes feel lost in a crowd especially on weekends and during the buffet breakfast. my room ac was somewhat noisy (though i did not complain) and check out was slow which was annoying. was great value for the money compared to other 5 star hotels.

Comfortable but very slow check-in!!
Breakfast, location and spacious
This seems to be an old luxury hotel. It is a bit dull inside but comfortable and clean otherwise. The location was good, quite close to the senayan mall and offices we had to visit. The breakfast spread was impressive and was the best part of my 6 hour stay! The service at the reception was horrendous. We arrived at 2am and the receptionist took ages to check us in, even after being told to hurry up. As it is an old hotel, it was big and spacious. As a business or solo traveller there are better options nearby I feel with popular hotel bars and shops/restaurants next door.

Very very slow service hotel
Large room, location, large hotel
Check in was slow. Staff moving at a snail pace. Breakfast was bad. All local food. Hardly anything edible. You have to queue up to be sitted. The hotel is old and cigarette smell is everywhere. Self proclaimed 5 star hotel and they make you pay 50,000 rupiah to go into the sauna. With the entrance fee, you will find brooms, mops, washing detergent left at the jacuzzi area. What a let down!

I love the fitness center!
Great fitness center! Nice breakfast! Friendly housekeeping!
Over all a nice stay. But when I arrived the very morning and needed to get to the Jakarta convention center, I used the underpass. The underpass was dim and quiet. It was scary as I was alone with laptop and files and projector and worse.. with high heel. After walking half way, I decided to walk back to the hotel lobby as I did not know how far and how safe it can be...

Average
Centrally located
It was just okay. I would say that it was mediocre for the name sultan. Room was large but it was poorly maintained and old.
