Started originally as a home-stay for visitors to experience the tranquil village life of the Osing people, The Margo Utomo Agro Resort, now has over 50 well appointed guest rooms, set amidst cool, shady gardens with the scenery of Kalibaru a stunning backdrop to the resort. The original concept of a hands-on experience still rings true, and visitors are invited and welcome to take part and learn traditional agricultural methods unique to this region. The resort also has a functioning dairy farm, producing and supplying dairy products for the immediate area, and across the straits to Bali and Lombok. very noisy because of the mosque, animals in cage.

We were supposed to rest there after hard trekking on the volcanoes, but that was impossible to sleep, because of the very noisy Imam during the night, and the works during the day. Please take your earplugs if you want to enjoy. Nevertheless, the place is very nice, with a beautiful garden full of plants, flowers & butterflies. The plantations around are very interesting to visit and people are very kind in the Kalibaroe village.
