Central to the old part of town, market, and on the river. Rooms are a bit noisy as they are all on the 2nd level just above a busy street (which is nearly impossible to cross) and shops. The Swiss-bel Borneo hotel is indeed in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan...not East Kalimantan like the website insists. It's central location makes it easy to explore the older part of town on foot. A taxi to the mall and newer part of town would not take more than a few minutes. The breakfast buffet was quite nice and the live traditional music in the lobby in the mornings adds a great touch. The woman in the business center was very friendly and informative.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : When leaving the hotel, cross the bridge and turn to your right at the market. If you follow this road down (about 10-15 minutes), you will see a large but peculiar-shaped mosque. Mars Attacks anyone?

If the hotel is very nice to people. Best ever response was good. It is also delicious buffet breakfast. Internet is free, it is slow. Is a good little faster. If you pay the Internet is now used to buy a card. This is important. Many cards are not available, and should not replace. Really nice hotel, nice, nice addition. Not even a mosquito in the room is clean. Although not quite up to Samarinda, the same hotel if I want to stay. If you are taken to Samarinda is recommended.
Shopping Tip : A few steps away, the only shopping mall in Samarinda probably very useful for shopping.
