The staff at Jo Je couldn't do enough. From serving us with our fussy breakfast and dealing with our no sugar/vegan requirements to keeping the room clean, helping me with my trip arrangements and just being really nice and accommodating made it a really nice stay. The beach view and the beach itself was one of the best beaches I've walked on and the sea was so nice to swim in - even though you get beach sellers coming up and down and its black sand its a really nice beach to walk on. My only issue was with who I think was the owner staring at us quite intensely as we discussed a day trip with a tour operator (not part of the hotel). This was off-putting but other than this I would 100% recommend this hotel as it's really nicely maintained and the beach location is fantastic - nicely enclosed to with a posh restaurant and swimming pool at the other end.

Nice small hotel but not well enough managed
The hotel ambience is great eventhough it is just a small hotel. Just several steps to the beach.

the hotel is small, only have 5 or 6 villa/rooms. but the ambience is great, a lot of greenery. face directly to the beach, so we can have dinner or breakfast on the beachfront. the room is quite ok, but not really managed well. the staffs are friendly, but not profesional enough to handle complains.

Best breakfast so far in asia. Friendly staff. Goodsized room. Nice bathroom. Room smelled odd. Pool didn't look inviting. On the outskirts of Senggigi.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Brutally, but not really reflecting on Jo Je, I'd skip Sengiggi completely. Gili's are nice and good for snorkelling. Kuta, Lombok is however amazing! Awesome beaches. If I were to do it again, I'd skip Sengiggi and spend more time in Kuta.

small hotel - from the pictures it looks a massive resort. its not!
breakfast simple - tea, fuit and omlette.
hotel in sengiggi - beach simple black sand.
at breakfast one of the staff kept looking at our face - we found this very rude. we stayed for 2 nights and every breakfast he kept staring at us non-stop.
this made us feel very uncomfortable.
transport very expensive at the hotel. avoid it.
many other hotels in the area. check them out before you stay here.
lombok as a whole is rubbish. its only good for surfers.
everything is a rip off and everybody wants to rip you off.
i would never visit lombok again!

All in all it was a pleasant stay especially with this guy (grown up orphan) Arun who took care of me from day one. He was the only honest one who gave me back my change. I saw him the only one working all day, while the rest of the outdoor staff simply idle around. Beware not to hand big Rupiah notes, as the night staff keep saying they have no small change. This is one sure way to get a tip, I thought. Overall, JoJe Boutique Hotel is value for money, compared to extravagant rates other hotels charge with little difference.
Travel tip:
It would be advantageous if you can ride a bike (available for rental) and handle the slopes and hills to get to the best beaches after Senggigi. The waters are amazing and breath-taking sights and sun-sets there.

In the quieter part of the island, close enough to the beach, but ensure to bring flashlight if you want to travel in the night. The room are nice, clean and not too small. The staff is very friendly and try to help you with all your needs.
