Puri Mas Boutique Resorts & Spa, Lombok

If you like this spot really depends on your interests and preferences. If you stay only a few nights (after arrival / before return) this may be agood choice, most of all if you like Balinese style and culture. The beach is ok, also as you find it in Bali, but there are better beaches around in Sengiggi. The resort successes another resort and seems to combine two different former resorts. There is some new plantation in the area of the pool villas, the normal cottages are situated in a beautiful garden.

We were picked up at the Airport and taken to the hotel through the "commercial" area of Sengiggi beach which had a small shopping areea and a number of reasonable resturants. We foud the "Square" to be to our liking, the food was well prepared and presented. The first night we sat on the balcony upstairs where there was a fine breeze and recorded contempary music. The next we ate downstairs where the music was live piano. Bothe experiences were very pleasant. The food in the evening at the Puri Mas was OK but the breakfast was excellent. Sitting next to the sea while having eggs is always welcome. There was no beach directly in front of the Puri but just to the right of the dining area by the pool was a nice section of beach that went about a kilometer to the north in the shape of a crescent bay. The sea in front was fine for playing in the salt water. About 200 meters up the beach was the Qunci Villas, excellent minimalist tranquil design but the food at the resturant was not quite up to expectations. This area is a good place to visit for a nice relaxing getaway.

After the slow ferry to Lombok, we arrived at the Puri Mas and it really was walking into a little haven of paradise. Little private rooms/chalets set in stunning gardens that are so well maintained, and a restaurant right on the water that we couldnt get enough of, this was the perfect backdrop for some luxurious relaxation. We truly felt spoiled, and the service was excellent. The owner has really created an exceptional place, and was so personal, on our arrival immediately introduced himself and was just so kind and friendly, as were all the staff there! But it was definitely something special. Our room was amazing, and although there was meant to be big mosquitos, the bed had big netting around it and with a bit of precaution we didnt have a single bite. We didnt have to want for anything, while lazing by the pool we were able to get cold beers, a nice bite to eat, and watch the sun set over Bali. Would strongly recommend going over to the gardens (another part of the hotel, a short journey provided by the hotel) where we arranged dinner one night and had dinner on a small private pavilion surrounded by birds and frogs... it was gorgeous. And nothing that would blow the budget either, it was worth every penny. The food in the restaurant was great, (recommend the tuna lombok!!!) and I just hope we can come back as soon as possible. If you can make it here then it is definitely worth it, personal, beautiful and a little piece of luxury!
