We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Alang Alang. We stayed 4 nights in a beach front bungalow, over looking the grass area shaded by palm trees. We were there to de stress and relax. It was perfect. The rooms were very spacious, very clean and air conditioned. We ate breakfast in the hotel every morning which was included in the package it was very sufficient. We also spent a couple of evenings at the bar and restaurant watching the sun set over Bali. The meals we beautiful and we would thoroughly recommend you try their restaurant for a meal. We hope to return one day.

Beachside leisure
Small complex, personal service. I loved the traditional style of the bungalow and the semi outside shower
7.7
This complex has all the amenities, beachside bar, open style restaurant, great pool complex and beachfront bungalows. Although the resort is not new, it is in good order and there were plenty of staff about ensure it is well maintained. If you enjoy semi-detached ground level living for a great price, then I recomend this place. The Taxi cost is only US$15 from the airport (about 1 hour) and there are some very nice new resorts on the same beach. We enjoyed going to some of the other hotel restaurants during our stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Take a boat trip to the Lomboc Gili islands (3) (google this to have a look) it was an amazing day trip, laid back island life at its best. We went snorkelling on the reefs, amazing colourful fish and turtles. Only US$50 for the trip!

Bungalow was great and location superb
Gardens lovely and outdoor shower was great
8.7
staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them. our only criticism was that the meal and bar area could do with a general tidy up. we had all our meals there and the food was very nice with a good choice.

Great service, place a bit run down
Fantastic staff - nothing was too much trouble. Location great as it was right on the ocean
7.3
our driver was waiting for us at the airport so transfer to the hotel was quick and easy. our check in was smooth and our bungalow was right in front overlooking the stretch of green grass that fronted onto the ocean. the beach was pretty much non-existent there but infinity pool was good so didn't need to use the beach anyway.
food was great and staff were only too happy to bring it to our room - always hot and freshly cooked. when i would mention it was for our young children they would automatically include small spoons and bowls. they were even happy to heat up our baby food and brought it back to our room presented on a tray with napkins and crockery :-). the breakfast was good value too.
the wifi access was dodgy, although the front desk would try and sort it out with the provider in town and call us back when it was up and running.
it gave the impression of being a bit run down due to pool spa not working, door to our bathroom not closing properly, our air conditioning unit was noisy and the batteries in our air con remote wasn't working properly.
overall, the staff made our stay very easy although lombok as a whole was too quiet for us travelling with young children.

Great location,great staff
Our room was right oppersite the waterfront.Excellent staff in restaurant & reception

great location to go site seeing whilst visiting lombok.close enough to hire a motorbike and go exploring the breath taking views of bali and the 3 gillis islands.restaurant staff can organise motorbike hire aswell as a driver with very modern car and good spoken english to go to tourist destinations like "kuta beach".excellent view from the room.cleaned daily and drinking water supplied.air con cold in room.sitting area just in front of room for that afternoon "bintang" or cup of coffee.body lotion, shampoo and body wash with beautiful smell supplied daily.excellent free fast wifi.bathrooms outside/inside design, needs to be updated but large and quiet clean considering age of hotel that originally was restaurant. staff at the reception desk and restaurant are excellent and are more than helpful with any requests or questions.
Restaurant Tip:
Follow the road in front of the hotel and turn right, just follow until you get to the road with the shops and restaurants.Excellent food choices along this road for the food critic, cheap prices and quick service.Try eating the corn cooked by the locals on the side of the street coming back from the main stretch. They cook it fresh on hot coconut husks and you can have either chilli, garlic or just plain butter drizzeled all over the corn.
