The views are quite stunning There were not much live around, but everything is very quiet in Lombok,. We had quite a good time at Alang-Alang, Staff were very kind and always willing to help. The breakfast was good, and the views from the restaurant were really nice. Prices were very compettitive, the only donside was the room which wasnt very big, but I guess we got one of the cheapest one.
Travel tip : If you are going scuba diving use Marlin, which has an oficce within the hotel

Beautiful rooms that are quiet. Great value for money esp compared to those nearby. There are other hotels nearby with good restaurants as well so you can visit these for alternative restaurants. Pool is also lovely Breakfast options were not that great and there is not a beach for swimming immediately in front. You have to walk about 100m to the right around a sea wall. We stayed at the Alang Alang for four nights on a vacation week. Generally it was a great place to stay. The rooms were comfortable and large with beautiful bathrooms. The restaurant had great food for lunches and dinners including yummy pizzas and an excellent BBQ night. Drinks were reasonably priced with a good range also. We also sampled some off the restaurants in resorts nearby which allowed us to try something new without the hefty price tags attached to some of these places.The are is also very beautiful if you go walking. We walked into Sengegi (about 35 mins) but you could also easily get transport. The hotel can arrange day (or longer) courses for diving around the Gilli's too. A highly recommended spot fro a quiet, relaxing break.
Travel tip : Lots of similar hotels nearby so you can visit many different restaurants. Great area for photography!

insects in bathroom. hotel allowing hawkers to try to sell next to pool area. This really is a beautiful and generally peaceful place to stay, the setting is perfect especially at sunset looking out to bali whilst sipping a drink at the bar.
The rooms are adequate size, nicely decorated with mosquito nets, open air bathrooms impressive on first look however after dark the large ants come out in the bathroom and drink from the toilet, would be good if the hotel put down something to deter them. outside area with each bungalow is nice makes you feel you have more space. rooms very clean and fresh towels everyday.
Pool area is scenic with nice sea front location. its very very quiet here despite being fully booked except for the hawkers that tiptoed along the front of the hotel were annoying and persistent, had the hotel staff disallowed this it would have been close on perfect throughout the day. sea front restaurant and bar, great vegetarian food, some italian some local. Very relaxing atmosphere, located a short taxi ride from sengiggi (less than a pound). dive shop on site useful, would return as such a lovely place.
Shopping Tip : great shopping area for gifts located near the expat bar called "the office" it isnt very well signed so difficult to notice when flying past in a taxi.

The hotel had a very quiet location and the pool was very nice, Staff were very helpful and nice. The restaurant was pretty good and was right on the beach. The rooms were a bit dark, and we had some misfortune with insects.
You will need transport, as the hotel is a bit isolated. We did enjoy our stay, but found our room to be quite dark. The open bathrooms were a gateway for insect visitors. We probably wouldn't return as we found it a bit expensive for what we got in comparison to other comprably priced hotels in Indonesia. It is a quiet hotel for couples, and not so much for families. I would encourage people with children to seek other accomodation. In closing, the staff were very nice and helpful, though.
Hotel Feature Tip : Scooter rental is close to the hotel on the main road.

Quiet, roomy, great service, great food An easy review to write as we enjoyed everything about the Alang Alang.
It's small, intimate, and friendly. Rooms are mostly in peaceful, spacious villas with the ubiquitous outdoor bathrooms.
The restaurant is run by a very friendly German ex-pat with a team of Chinese chefs - expect great food all round.
It represents great value for such a stylish place.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Great snorkelling about 500 m up the beach

Villa opens up to beach directly in front. Food at restaurant is good especially the breakfast and coffee. Far away from nearest restaurant; aorund 15mins travel Good and relaxed getaway for honeymooners, singles who wants to relax and stay away from people and 'city'. The pool is lovely as it overlooks the sea with excellent 'catch' of the sunset, a dream come true to a perfect holiday.Relaxed to be doing nothing whole day. Staff is friendly. Personnel at 'diver center' located inside Alang Alang is very helpful with information.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Dive center located inside Alang Alang can arrange for snorkeling and diving trips at short notice on off-peak season. For peak season,can book a few months in advance.

Location, heart-warming staff, and seafood. Location, shower, and humidity. Heart warming staff welcome you and fantastic seafood impresses you. Beach bar is outstandingly great. It is the same, as you would imagine a Beach Bar to be. But humidity of the room is a poor thing.

good hotel nice seaview, quiet, not directly sengiggi, friendly staff. close to the road much to do in close proximity. had a good time. make sure you get the room with seaview are located further from the road and have beautiful views. Nice pool and good food. To travel from hotel to gili ranggu been. beautiful uninhabited island near Lombok really must. more easily explore the area with scooter. good hotel with excellent rooms and good beds.
