This hotel was the first established hotel on the Gilis Island, so it provides a terrific take on the traditional island hospitality.The hotel's traditional "Sasak" style architecture takes advantage of the perfect weather, with an "outdoor living room" right in your own traditional "hut". Of course your hut comes complete with all the modern amenities.Be sure to take care of the many sightseeing opportunities available, or enroll in one of the hotel's diving classes. You can also simply swim in the hotel's large (3-tier) swimming pool, which includes a salt water level, a Jacuzzi, a pool island and a waterfall. Follow that up by taking in the moonlight from the specially designed stargazing veranda, which takes advantage of the pristine view of the night skies.The bottom-line: this hotel perfectly blends tradition with all of the first class perks.

We enjoyed staying in ombak. Location is good (right to all the night happening, yet very calm)roms are very good, staff helpful.

Large pool, cocktails

staff not great, pool tatty,

OK hotel but staff not very attentive, ignored us at the desk several times. pool is nice and large but several broken tiles etc. Breakfast was nice. We got a boat from Lombok with them and was $10 pp and took 15 minutes - we felt that was good value compared to some places we saw. Staff at the bar were much friendlier than reception staff and made lovely cocktails. We stayed at Luce d'alma after and it was MUCH nicer though it depends what you want - OMbak is much closer to the main action.

I stayed there 3 years before. This is my 2nd time. Staffs and guard could remember me well so I really had a good time. They were so friendly. Most of the guests were European and Australian, only few Asians. For transferring by boat , You could get wet till your knees, so better prepare your cloths properly. I used to stay at cottage type, there were stairs from veranda to the public shower area in the garden so it may not safe for elderly and children. I could use hot water but it was salty water, so it may inconvenience if you wash with soap or shampoo. Now, new cottages are under construction so I'm not sure about that shower. There was the beach in front of hotel. If you go to the sea, you could see coral and fishes. The taste of food at the restaurant was also really great. I had the whole 3 meals for 5 days there. I gave 85 points to this hotel.
