the place is isolated and very little to do around here other than diving. we took "introductory" diving course, but there was no proper "introduction"--the staff who spoke very little english put us in the boat with the rest of the guests and literally threw us into the ocean and tried to teach how to clean the mask in the ocean when there was a strong current at the bottom of the ocean (it was raining hard on the surface). definately not worth the money. the place has no wifi (the staff kept saying, there is no wifi today, may be tomorrow...) and they do not provide any toilettries so you have to bring soap and shampoo and everythig by yourself. there were so many ants and bugs in the bungalow and gotten bitten a lot by some kind of insects so you have to put on a lot of bug spray. also, we had an emergency so we needed to leave the lodge one day early, but there was no attempt to make any accomodation for an earlier departure. instead, the owner said he will try to give me the best price next time i book the hotel--i don't think there will be a next time.

Lovely place for Divers

this tiny island has a few hotels and the sea breeze seemed to cater for my needs. there is no a/c in the rooms, just a fan. the shower and toilet facilities are adequate but not posh. the food is good wholesome indonesian food. you will need to use the mosquito nets that are provided.
think of this hotel as a diving/backpacking hotel and you won't go far wrong.
the downside is the wi-fi which when it worked at all is very poor. if you need to keep in touch with the internet, either by a 3g card, or choose another hotel.
overall; i loved this resort hotel. the diving crew are relaxed. the boss keeps them in check, but you won't get the "your 2nd stage is at the wrong angle" type stuff. the diving itself is fantastic.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Terry, who runs the place, also does away day style trips to some of the attractions in the local area, which is great for non-divers, and for people who want a break in their diving hols.

no beach
transportation expensive from the port of manado
check out at 9.30 am, which is too early
the rooms doesn't explain the price
bring your card games because there is not so much thing to do, except diving and snokerling

Nice resort but cottages need to renew. I understood that some kind of renewing project is going but not all in one time. Very good staff who gave good service. Food was mostly good but breakfast maybe needs more imagination. Nice restaurant also. The worst thing was maybe the internet connection which didn't work very well but the connection was for hours away every day. Cottage with sea view was very nice but the bathroom/toilet not the best construction because the shower was not separately and the floor was always wet. However we used this and it didn't disturb so much after one day. The location of the resort very good and we could snorkel from the beach. Very nice coral reef to snorkel. This time we didn't need mosquito nets in nighttime. Maybe more mosquitos in other garden cottages. Resort was worth of the price!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Good place to relax, snorkel and dive! Very nice village near also there were very friendly people!

Sea Breeze is bliss

The staff were very hard working and the location ideal (bar and rooms). Best snorkeling on the island was right off the beach/reefrim. Not much to do on the island apart from amazing diving, book reading in hammocks and drinking in the evenings with interetsing European travellers. We had the most relaxing holiday of our lives here!
Travel tip:
Book a Beach/sea breeze view - the wind is so cooling on a 35 degree day.

We stayed 4 nights here. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The Snorkeling and diving was great , ands its just out the front. The views were great. The three meals a day were consistent, healthy with plenty for all. The room had an ensuite which was fine and a fan. The beds had mosquitos nets but also had foam mattresses which are not the best. Most rooms seem to have a hammock outside, but ours did not so there was no where to comfortably read a book.

Have a great 4 day stay the staff are very friendly and could not be more helpful. The snorkeling was as good as the diving. The dives were very good. My only complaint is that even though you have to pay 150,000IDR national park fee there is a lot of rubbish in the water. This washes over from Manado If the government was using this money were it should be used this would not be happening. The resort owners really need to work on this issue as it will effect their trade in the long run. There are many other places were the diving is as good if not better and the park fees are used to keep them clean and preserved.
Hotel Feature Tip:
If you do not want to be disturbed by noise from the dinning area ask for a room away beach front. Rooms 3 and 4 are very close to this and there is a lot of disturbance from the loud voices and barking dogs. Not so good if you wish to have some quiet time after diving all morning.

I arrived with no diving experience and planned to complete my basic open water. I was lucky enough to have 1 on 1 instruction with Terry and I had a great time. The rest of the staff were also very helpful and attentive. Overall, it was a very nice place with a friendly atmosphere.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If they're offering it, don't miss out on the wild dolphin trip.
