great location but poor service
its right opposite the famour Merdeka Walk

The hotel is in a great location but when we checked in the air condition unit was not working.
They changed us to another room and that was wonderful.
However upon checking out they charged us for a hand towel that was missing.
It is a nice hotel but not great service!

Great rooms and a magnificent breakfast, lots of variety and a great service. Big rooms with a nice vieuw.
Travel tip:
this hotel is located right at the Merceda walk a big streets with a lot of street and dining area, also a big shoppingmall next to the hotel. iff we stay again in Medan we will definitly go for Aston City Hall

Maybe best hotel istay in Indonesia

Arriving at the Aston was like entering a refuge from the traffic and noise of Medan. (we really liked Medan but you need a break from the traffic and noise). Such a lovely hotel and the staff were so nice and helpful from the reception counter to all the support staff. A great swimming pool and spa - enjoyed a very nice massage which was reasonably priced. Room was great with all amenities including wi-fi. Our stay at this hotel made us seek out other Aston hotels on our travels. Highly recommended to any traveler. Room was great and exceptional. This hotel was much better than many 5 star hotels we have stayed at.

Very nice and modern 5 star hotel, nice staff, location good. Very nice and big swimming pool.
I stayd in a big executive room (with one bedroom) which had 2 aircon units, but still it took like forever to make room little cooler, so that was only negative thing about this hotel

this is a great hotel, well located and with its unique style, connected to old city hall and with a bit of medan history.
room is clean and in very good conditions. i enjoyed my stay.
the only issue i have is the ac is a bit noisy, tried to set to the low speed fan which helped a bit, but not completely solved the problem.

Wide room with luxury bathroom. Kindly staff. So so dinner menu, unrecommended for its lamb chop. Good for its value of money. But we can't to tasting the hotel breakfast because the agoda package does not included it.
near to the "Merdeka Walk", one of pleasure area in Medan destination. The hotel also behind the City Hall of Medan.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
There are "Lapangan Benteng" and "Lapangan Merdeka" near the hotel.

it was thge first time i had stayed at this hotel, i have nothing but praise for the staff, extriemly helpful & friendly in every way.
i have never seen security in a hotel like this, it is extriemly good, better that the airport entry, people will feel very safe and secure here, there is everything that you would in this hotel, the only thing i would say that ppl smoke in most areas & the b/fast area is quite small for such a large hotel

Just go and frlax here, you will feel very safe, Medan is a very nice city to travel to
