Nice hote with a great location!
Nice building, quiet, friendly staffs, clean big room

I didn't choose a wrong hotel for my first visit to Medan. I stayed for 1 night in a deluxe room. The room was big and very clean. It has free cable internet connection in every room. Breakfast was good. Really worth it.
Nightlife Tip:
There's a club just behind the hotel. They open until 1-2 am. Great music!

We were pleased with the outlook of the hotel, very grand. And prior to entrance, we had to went through a security check which provided us a sense of safety assurance. Welcome drink and towel was provided to refresh ourselves. Upon arriving the room, the room was spacious and the bed was comfy. No worries about getting meal as right opposite the hotel was the famous Merdeka Walk. The hotel staffs greeted us every time. We were very satisfied with their service.

Nice appartment, very comfortable and close to the airport and the city.
The staff are helpful. However the breakfast is average.
I enjoy staying there too as it is convenient to go outside for supermarket shopping and food stall.
Restaurant Tip:
Bring something and cook by using the kitchen in hotel

Wet bar did not work. Clock did not work. Information in Guide was completely out-of-date. Electronic key lock for dorr failed because of battery. (No maintenance)Very unsafe' locked pedestrian exits to street, small step (tripping hazard); No fire exits on the ground floor. If you do not like Indondesian food, you will have to go to McDonalds's.
Hotel Feature Tip:
When in Indonesia, always be aware of safety. Always be careful around and in traffic. Very few laws are obeyed. Check fire escape routes, steps to trip over, wet tile floors, entrances blocked. There is very little concept of safe design and behavior in Indonesia. I know because I have worked here for over two years.

good location , not so far from the airport , near shopping center and in front of hotel( just opposite) only 2 minutes from merdeka walk , and because in the city centre we can go any where to eat and shop only 5-15 minutes by taxi

Grand Aston is located right in the heart of Medan city, in front of the Merdeka Walk where you can find a whole stretch of food stalls and restaurants.

nice hotel tho' location rather away from my favourite shopping there is merdeka walkmalls. for junk food day till midnite just opposite of the hotel there is merdeka walk.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Vintage building near round, don't forget bring along your camera.

Great, Comfortable, Convenient, Large Rooms

Grand Aston is located ritght in the heart of Medan city, behind the hotel is the Aryaduta Hotel where there's a Shopping Mall. Though the there's noting great in the mall but at least you can find basic neccessities there. And the best part is, the hotel is right in front of the Merdeka Walk where you can find a whole stretch of food stalls / restaurants. No traffic light for you to cross over but there are security guards who'll help you cross over.
Nightlife Tip:
Not much of a night life can be found around that area accept for hotel entertainment and a family ktv which is about 3 mins walk from the hotel

Nice hotel with everything in place

I love staying in Grand Aston everytime i am in Medan beacuse the location is so convenient to the eating place across the road ie Merdeka Walk and also within walking distance to shopping areas. The rooms are clean and spacious. The Breakfast served in the morning have just enough varieties for us to sample a range of good food. The staff are very helpful and polite.
