my in-law and i were booked into room by a good friend and we appreciated the room ambience and the rates we paid for the hotel. the distance to shopping malls and sights were reasonably near. the breakfast was just ok, nothing spectacular. we booked a taxi from the hotel to go to lake toba and it was an hour late. there are pros and cons overall.

staff is very helpful , kind and generous. as we arrived late, we were told that all deluxe room was fully booked. without hesitation they had upgraded our room to executive without extra fees, and we got a super nice room after tour to lake toba. breakfast is decent and satisfactory variety. fried chicken is nice. room is clean and spacious. location is abit far from major shopping centre and most cab doesnt stop at front door but back door which is a bit dirty. be careful at night when u return via back door of hotel especially strangers

highly recommended sun plaza, awesome place for shopping dining , and walk around

great hotel in city of noise and dust

we were grateful as we had checked in late at 5 pm due to delay from airasia, as our superior room was fully booked , our room were upgraded to executive and much luxurious.
staff there are helpful and friendly , they even help me out when bargaining for price of becak to sunplaza.
i would definately recommend to others again when they coming to medan
Shopping Tip:
never forget to drip by at rika bakery shop owned by chinese family who sell best cake of town - bika ambur and lapis legit
which taste less oily and less sugar,though its slightly more expensive but definately worthy
bika - 45000, lapis legit - 65000. must try before you buy it

Lovely hotel and very good service
The room is nice and clean and well maintain.

The location of this hotel is not that far from the city center and easy to get a taxi. This hotel is definitely worth the money for family trip or business trip.
Shopping Tip:
Pasar Ikan is the best place to go for shopping. Not sure why it called Pasar Ikan because I didn't see anyone selling fish there..

We enjoyed our stay there, so comfy and cool that we need not worry about the city's hot weather. The distance to some attraction like Medan Walk is actually not far by distance, but since the city does not have good road infrastucture for walk and there's no shade, you have to take vehicle. It's not easy to get a cab here, unless you choose the hotel's cab.
We would certainly go back to this hotel again, especially if there's still promo/discount. It's worthwhile.

Breakfast is not too bad for this price, challenging to get taxis from the hotel as there's no taxi pool from there, wifi is slow (if connecting from room)
