Solo travelers Malaysia, March 03, 2013	lovely room lovely room and cafe 7.7 Nice hotel to stay and great location.nice viewing and sighseeing.but i really disappointed with regrads to my taxi bluebird booking. i had booked my taxi 1 day before but then no taxi was ready in my early morning waiting. then i used express taxi and they charged me without using meter. really sad on these. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: hard to get blubird taxi

Staff was very accomadating and provided a good service. Onlybproblem i had was the room service late night. Called and nonasnwer for 4-5 times.

Couples Indonesia, February 26, 2013	"Nice andomfortable hotel at the town center" Modern concept hote with nice entrance lobby and the reception lobby, with good breakfast restaurant. 8 A modern in town business hotel and very practical for short term visitors to Medan as it is located about 15 minutes max from the airport and in the proximity of the business district. The hotel is adjacent to or in the same building complex with a shopping and leisure mall "The Palladium". Although the mall is nothing to write home about, but still it can make your stay easier and thus an extra feature to the hotel. The Staff is friendly, sufficiently responsive and efficient, easy and speedy check in and check out process. The double lobby is quite interesting, it gives you the possibility to receive your guests at the lobby entrance and thus do not have to go up to level 9, where the hotel is actually start (floors below are the mall). If you want to visit Medan efficiently, I think you may want to consider this hotel. Travel tip: See above comments

The staff 8.7 we chose this hotel from the tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. we were given a lovely room on the pool level with a small terrace. the hotel was certainly far more than we expected for medan having been there 10 years previously and found hotels quite basic. the staff were tremendous, friendly but not imposing. the friday night buffet was beyond expectations - the only buffet we have ever attended and never tasted anything other than the fish - it was to die for - we didn't try anything else and had 4 platefuls! we had intended eating out during our stay but confess to eating every meal in the hotel. happy hour was delightful on our terrace however their choice of cocktails was a bit limited. when we left we explicitly asked to speak to the gm to compliment him on his hotel. we will certainly go back there. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Not that much to see in Medan but paid the beca driver (trishaw attached to a motorbike) just to drive around Medan for an hour or so - well worth it as we saw more of life in the streets.

Solo travelers Singapore, February 24, 2013	Staff need training and rooms need refurbishment Price 4 Initially was impressed with airport pick up service but upon arriving at front desk was dusappointed with a snooty front desk staff who seems to make me feel like i am disturbing her. Upon seeing room, was shocked to see unclean fridge with previous guest leftover food, trash under duvet of bed and lots of ants at sugar biwl and cups. When i informed this to frint desk, as it was already 10pm, she said housekeeping has gone back and so she will check. No apologies. She did not call back and no one came to clean up. Next day, housekeeping still did not remove leftover food. Upon checkout, front desk staff yet again was more keen in chatting on the phone than attending to me. Rooms really need to repaint, lobby sofa is crying out for new upholstry and the whole hotel has a very musky, stale and dull smell.

Families with young children Malaysia, February 24, 2013	Aryaduta,my home in the city..))) beautiful landscaping of poolside,and sumptuous breakfast 8.7 first of all, kudos to the porters or bellboys for their wonderful service..form the beginning of our stay till the end of our check out..job well done. keep it up..not that happy with the reception,they dont have that genuine smile..must work on the skill. loved the room, clean and very spacious..just nice for my daughters to play around ))).not happy with the internet service/wifi though probably due to the location of the room. i love the coffee house "the kitchen".a fairly good widespread of dishes from local to continental..the waiters and waitresses are very helpful and friendly too. the only downside is the facilities.for a 5 star hotel expected a better gym equipment(though i like the location of the gym)and no steam or sauna. but overall, i would definitely recommend it to any travelers especially those with kids or on business. thank you aryaduta for making our stay a memorable one!)))) Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Well,one surely must not miss the beautiful Lake Toba and must make a trip to Samosir Island when you arrive there.If you appreciate nature, that is the best place to be.And in the city dont forget the Tjong A Fie Mansion..the man who somewhat makes changes in Medan.

I also like the swimming pool and breakfast. 4.3 My first impression was wow. a beautiful hotel. However I was particularly disappointed in the rooms. I was given a room far from the lift. When I arrived at my room I was very disappointed with the room condition. It has a nice layout but has maintenance problems. It was smelly and a bit run down. I hope the management can look into this issue seriously. Nevertheless apart from that, the experience with the hotel was fine. The pool is very nice and if you are lucky to have a pool view room, it is quite enticing (its view).
