Great New Hotel

it is a new hotel, nearby city center, and helpful staff

1. We arrived at the hotel at 2am and we were allowed for early check in due to our small baby condition and long time to wait for normal check in at 2pm. 2. Its a small room but worth what we paid. 3. buffet breakfast even not much choice. 4. located near city centre and easy access for public transportation such as taxi, "beca".

I checked in late at night but The staffs are very helpful. Very near to the destination of my visit. i slept well at night as it is very quiet. the good quality mattress was out of my expectation. Overall it is a good hotel and valued the money I paid. I will definately revisit this hotel for my next visit to Medan.

This hotel is so new it still smells of fresh paint. The architecture and interior design are trendy... and cold. If you don’t like the 70s style motifs on wallpaper and wall-to-wall carpeting you won’t feel at ease in those rooms, but nonetheless, they are comfortable and big enough, with a well-designed bathroom. No fridge, though (and I was in a ‘Deluxe’) which is a definite flaw. The staff is helpful and friendly except in the restaurant where they are slow and incompetent. When I stayed there (Easter time) most of the patrons were well-off Indonesian-Chinese and if they plan to ‘take over’ this place, then you better stay away if you’re wary of rambunctious, noisy and ill-behaved neighbors. The food in the restaurant is basic, oily, not creative and grossly over-priced. Breakfast is the universal buffet, not bad, not outstanding either. The coffee tastes like hot water with a very distant taste of coffee in it. One very crazy feature of the restaurant is that the tables are so crammed together, it’s a challenge to walk among them, which is precisely what a buffet requires you to do. The internet connection in the room is outrageously slow, with frequent, nerve-raking cut-offs. Browsing is heavily censored, too, which is fine if you’re some religious fundamentalist, but kind of exasperating if you’re not. It’s all in the choice of the provider so it’s not inevitable (in case you wondered) and I’ve stayed in other Medan hotels where that was not a problem.
