A great hotel in Chinatown
Reasonably well located and food is no problem.

my hotel stay was one which made my day while in medan. it takes a day or two to get used to the dirty and dusty roads around the hotel. by three star standard, the hotel is indeed value for money. staff members are well-trained and courteous and do not keep customers waiting too long. i was impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel.

i love their services, it makes my stay awesome especially when they could guide you which places to travel, how to travel, and what to eat. during my first day of arrival, one of the staff even helped me to call the bluebird taxi to pick us up to the famous local food restaurant. i was there for 3days and i totally love the hotel facilities as well. although the room is not too spacious but it was nice and good especially their bed are so comfortable. i definitely will choose swiss-belinn if i ever go to medan again.

overall, we were happy with our stay at swiss-belinn hotel. new. fast check-in. their staffs are friendly, they showed us the way to the road behind for chinese food stalls/restaurant. inside the room: tv with various channels. contemporary. no bathtub & carpet anyway. free online but we didn't use it.
Restaurant Tip:
behind the hotel (can choose the door behind to exit the hotel and you can see a lots of chinese food stalls & restaurant there. try their pork noodle (soup/dry), duck noodle & pork satay! (if you happened to see a man selling durian pancake, try them! it tastes really nice!!

generally ok. although the indonesian family in the next room woke us up at 5 am with lots of noise and banging on our door. also the trolly for our bags never came when we asked so had to ferry bags down to the lobby ourselves. on the positive side the room was clean, the staff friendly enough and the aircon worked well.

this hotel is easy to find, not a huge hotel, but it provide what should have had. lobby environment is cool.. there is direct access to medan's famous food street selat panjang from it's rear door.
if your priority is low price, downtown location, clean, swiss belinn should be the correct one
Shopping Tip:
When you visiting Mesjid Raya, spare sometime to drop by Yuki Simpang Raya in opposide of the mosque, you'll find local environment there, nice service and superb drinks at it's cafe in 2nd floor.

Shopping Tip:
Just take one way taxi blue bird or express to visit istana maimoon, mesjid raya medan mall and pasar baru for save your money.Don't take privite rental car coz hour for minimum 2 hour or to per day. very near to visit that place..up to you..

Had an unpleasant stay at this hotel. The staff is very "cold". Location is also not so good, the so call food street only have few stalls at the back of the hotel and the price is very expensive. Will not come back again.
