Nice hotel but need carpet replacement.

Generally it is a nice hotel, however we had to wait long time when we checked out as the front office staff was very busy with checked in guests.
Carpet room seems be old enough and should be replaced with the new one. Could be bad for asthmatic guests.

Overall ok for the price we paid. Decent room and bathroom. Slightly old. The pool and breakfast were fantastic. Very centrally located - near to solo square shopping mall.

The hotel services is very good. Fast check in and check out and welcome drink and snack serviced during check in. Airport transfer from hotel to airport available at early morning because my flights at 05:55am. Overall the hotel services is very good, convenience, hospitality and value of money. I recommend this hotel for family and business.

I really enjoyed my stay at Sunan Hotel. The food was good.. The breakfast had many different kind of foods, Indonesian (especially Solo's most fave dish, Nasi Liwet), Chinese, Western.
Quick check in and check out. I didn't have to wait too long to finished the administration.
Only 5-10 min from Solo Square. (I took becak -local transportation- from there to the hotel).
But they didn't have proper umbrella, since it's raining season. They only had two umbrellas I guess (not with hotel's logo). I borrowed to go to the mini market across the hotel, but it was broken the minute I opened it. I returned it and got the better one (but not that good).
Shopping Tip:
Solo is not too big. You can choose to shop anywhere by only 15-20 min max. I went to Solo Square and Solo Paragon ( the newest shopping mall). Very nice! and they have Starbucks too..

The Sunan Hotel has many of the features you would expect in a high end hotel (restaurants, swimming pool, live music), but the price is close to the economy level. As such it is great value.
The restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced. They occasionally have special menus celebrating a particular Indonesian cuisine. Strongly recommended. They also have a music venue that is apparently one of the best in Solo for live music, but I didn't go to that.
The rooms are a good size, but could use refitting/redecorating. My rooms had a faulty toilet and the repair guy said that they had no spare parts and they tended to cannibalize (actually used this English word) parts from other rooms. Other things (e.g. small CRT TVs in rooms could use updating). They are constructing a new building, so maybe they will update the whole hotel when that is finished.
Location is not within walking distance of the city center, so you will need to take a (cheap) Taxi.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The hotel will pick you up/drop you off from/to the airport/train station for free.

The staff are very helpful. I was having a hard time finding the hotel and I called the hotel. The staff was very clear in giving directions and they even offered hotel pick up service in case I'm lost!
