Amazing Hotel

i love this hotel. the design is absolutely superb. the rooms are clean and amazing, the staff is absolutely great and helpful and breakfast was absolutely delicious! the only downside is that it takes about 30 minutes for you to reach downtown surabaya from the hotel.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The hotel offers in house massage service in which you can request for the masseuse to come up and give you a massage in your room which to me is perfect after a long day of shopping!

Comfortable and nice place to stay

Artotel truly is a nice place to stay. At first i didn't expect much from this place because it doesn't have many facilities like swimming pool or fitness center, but it did cover that in some other point like the bed was king koil quality which made me sleep very well, the internet connection was fast enough for me, the receptionists were nice and very welcome, the breakfast was great and two thumbs up for the food at the cafetaria. It opens 24 hours and the chef really know how to make a great medium rare beef tenderloin steak. One of the best i've ever had. I'll come to surabaya again on may and i'll definitely stay at artotel again. If only they have swimming pool and gym facilities, this hotel would be a greater place to stay.

Good hotel for budget traveler

I was traveling by myself on a business trip to surabaya and decided to try Artotel as it was recommended.
The hotel is new,and has a chic design. Room is clean, with great selection of TV channel.
Parking space is located outdoor and very limited. At certain times it is very difficult to find a space.
Convenience store is located at premise. Good menu selection for breakfast. Staff is very friendly, they actually call you in the morning for breakfast reminder.

This is a great place to stay and excellent value for the Agoda price if visiting Surabya.
The staff are friendly and helpful, although it is not orientated for tourist info. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the buffet breakfast caters for all dietary needs.
The foyer is a comfortable place to sit and use your laptop or read or chat with friends.
It is not too far in a cab to most places in the city and contrary to the major tourist guide books there are interesting things to see and do in Surabya.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Check out the Tourist Information Centre in the city for info on what to see and do and to get a decent city map. Ask about cultural dance performances which are often held at the centre on weekends - in my experience they are well worth seeing but be on time as they draw a large local crowd.

Pop decors, youth lifestyle, great hotel!

Okay, first of all the location is just great. In the middle of everything, many good restaurants around. It's also the part of Surabaya which I liked the most with lots of tall shady trees lining up the roads around the area.
Check in was easy and pleasant. Front office staffs were really hospitable.
The room had a pop mural on the back wall, and it gave a fun and playful feeling. Something that would excite solo business travelers, or young couples. The mattress was great and I was very satisfied with the quality given for the price. But also maybe because it is still a new property.
When I returned from work on the evening, there was live music at the lobby directly in front of the elevators, the guests were age 18 to 22. It was a bit loud to have at the lobby, but I realized it was also Valentine's day. So I'm not sure if it's a regular thing to have at the lobby or not.
Breakfast was delightful. Choices maybe limited, but everything seemed to be prepared carefully and in line with the whole pop-modern concept of the hotel.
I would suggest this hotel for young travelers, solo business travelers (not in groups), or young couples.
Restaurant Tip:
The BonAmi close to the hotel is actually the same as the famous BonCafe restaurants. They serve pretty much the same menu. Guests can easily walk here to get a respectable taste of indonesian-western from this surabaya-based restaurant chain.
