I mostly stay at this hotel whenever i go to Surabaya for a business trip. Although the room is quite old fashioned but it is clean and comfortable. What stands out about this hotel is they serve best traditional Indonesian cuisine.

Fast check in make everything feel so good, friendly staff, very nice indonesian food, especially the rawon, the rest make feel comfortable. Internet access in room was quite fast, make me so easy to stay connected. Beatiful garden, closed to biggest shopping centre in the city, finally everything so good.

Strategic location but hotel needs refurbishment.

Eventhough the hotel is old, the Front Office, Food & Beverage and Housekeeping staff are all very friendly offering good services.
Encountered 2 different problems while staying at this hotel.
Firstly, eventhough room booked was for double occupancy, hotel initially refused to give out 2 keys upon arrival citing security reasons. Complaint was lodged to supervisor but to no avail. Hotel Executive Asst Manager approved 2 keys on the second day. Totally counterproductive...and no apology extended by Exec Asst Manager.
Secondly, the hotel contracted taxi that we took to Tunjungan Plaza (next to Sheraton)cheated us on the fare. This particular driver did not switch on the meter, but charged us Rp20,000.00. Approximate fare by meter is less than Rp7,000. He claimed it is a standard rate from hotel to Tunjungan Plaza. Complaint was lodged.
