Budget City Hotel, easy access to Tunjungan Plaza.

We chose this hotel because of 2 things: price and location. The price we paid was fair. Location is unbeatable, exactly in the heart of Surabaya City. We came these by car. The parking area was very tight. The concierge is in the 3rd floor, which is quite awkward. They gave us room #629. The room is tiny and has no window, which is very uncomfortable for us.
The biggest issue was the droning sound from the wall. The sound came from the outdoor units of the Air Conditioner. If you have sensitive ears, the droning sound will be very annoying.

it's satisfactory. can be better if the room is not disturbed by loudly sounding machine from construction / renovation nearby.
staff was decently friendly and the location is pretty near Plaza Tunjungan - which is a major shopping centre in Surabaya
during the stay, it was peak holiday season and the hotel was fully packed. Although it was really value for money, it may not suit those who seek serenity and quite environment
Restaurant Tip:
Layar is a good restaurant serving seafood.

Nice room, but a little bit small.. Good choice for a traveller/backpacker.. The bathroom a little unsatisfied, if you shower, the water will sprout to the toilet, make it wet.. I suggest the hotel get some layer between shower room n toilet.. And another point, the bathroom door Not closely enough, so you can peek on the gap between door and wall (it's not a problem if you are a couple) ;)
Travel tip:
Close enough with one big mall..

the room clean & air con cold enought but room small, just enought for 2 adult & 1 child (no extra place to add-on bed). staff friendly & helpful. Overall the hotel is lovely & we will stay for our next visit.

the chinese restaurant's food nice & cheap, U must try the "Tim Sum" & other food just in this hotel

This hotel provide you a small room with queen bed size. So if you sleep with your family, reconsider to take two bedroom.
The food here has little variety and the taste is little bit plain.
For the location, it's great because you can go anywhere so easily.

With the great location, the small rooms without window, is not our obstacle to walk into business and dining places. But, i was nervous when i booked the bellboys to take my big luggages, not come until the critical time. so i have to drag them by own to down-lobby.

We booked 3 rooms for our short stay at Surabaya. We arrived at 2.30 pm, which is the usual time for check in, and our rooms were not ready. The staff asked us to wait for 2 hours before we can check into our rooms. They keep changing the time of wait from 20 minutes to another 20 and another 20 and finally it's already 2 hours. We traveled with baby so it's really annoyed us. The staff didn't even bother to explain the delay or offer some apology. Even the guest who come after us get a room first.
The breakfast was suck, the food was cold and not too many variety.
The only reason we choose this place because it's on the same building of our family gathering. Totally disappointed.
