Great location but poor room

This is my third stay at this hotel but this time in the superior room. The room is in need of refurbishment as it is old and dated. The refurbishment is overdue. Otherwise the hotel is in a great location in the surabaya city within easy reach of shopping centres and F&B outlets and restaurants.

the breakfast was not much choice and everywhere is a smoking area.try to avoid on peak period to stay in this hotel. we were a little unlucky cause we check in late due to our flight schedule and get a smaller deluxe theme premium room (comparing it to the other room with the same rate, this was told by the hotel staff)and with a lousy flushing system in the toilet.

This is a little bit old hotel, when we stayed there the lobby was under renovation. Room is large but the shower needs repair. For Indonesians, no toilet shower is a problem. Breakfast menu is not as we expected: moderate to low in terms of taste, variety and quality. One of four guests elevators (lifts) got trouble, it couldn't close completely: we must move to another one. It seemed that room services used same elevators as guests: a little bit bothersome.

some of the hotel facilities are already old and the bathroom is quite small. nice place to stay

at the front of the hotel side has nice ice cream shop with authentic Surabaya ambience. It name is Zangrandi ice cream

expensive bar. poor elevator system. hotel is very busy, and waits are extremely long when a wedding party is staying at the hote.

the hotel itself is very dated, despite renovations i read about. the deluxe theme rooms aren't anything special - maybe the japanese one is but i didn't have that one. bathroom was tiny and the toilet didn't flush well. the beds are very comfortable, which is a huge plus. the staff is accommodating and do their best to help out. the spa is overpriced and the gym is dark and dated. no swimming pool. the on-site bar/club, the cat's pajamas was a nice surprise if you're there over the weekend.

My wedding ceremony was taken in this hotel 21 years ago. Surprised me that lobby still the same but the room has change into certain theme. Awesome!

crowded but comfortable hotel

feels good hotel... it looks like old building when we first enter the building. at that time, the hotel is renovating some part of the building making it looks a bit messy.
but when we enter the room, it looks good and comfy. so we stay for 2 days there. and it feels like home. it is a recomended hotel for couples. the mood setting and the decoration is suit to my taste.
although the water heater for making coffee seems to be dirty, and the cold water tap is not cold (it was very hot actually), but it was an enjoyable visit...
