I stayed for 2 days to visit my relatives in Surabaya. Overall this hotel is inexpensive but the facility is great. Room quite big, AC is great, vary clean room, helpful staff. Cold and hot shower. Location is practically in central, easy to reach shopping malls if you need to buy things or eat outside (breakfast menu is standard, not many option). in front of hotel there are blue bird taxis waiting, so it's easy to commute.

Valuable for money, staffs are very helpful and friendly, the room is clean but the water tastes salty, sticky and smelly, and my room has no window. This hotel not in main street but a lot of taxis in front of it.

Pros: The Hotel 88 is more a business- than a holidays-hotel, but it's also good if you're just looking for a nice place to stay for holidays near the railway station (10 minutes walk). The location is also good if you're looking for malls / cinemas, as there are 3 malls offering almost everything within 10 minutes walking distance. The room is fairly spacious and the bed is really comfortable. Cleanliness is no issue, the room and the bathroom are spotless. The staff is very professional and makes everything for a good feeling. Breakfast is basic but good though.
Cons: Nothing to complain about. The noisy guests in my neighbour room were nasty, but not the hotel's fault, they even helped me to ask them for more silence (I'm not fussy at all, but this was after midnight!). A slight con is may be that a lot of rooms have no windows, so if this matters to you, make sure to get a room with a window. And: If you stay on the 2nd or 3rd floor, it's quite noisy early in the morning because the breakfast is being served there.
