Great place to stay
Colonial Building and Strategic Location.

One of Surabaya's best heritage, the hotel features historical colonial building (built in 1910)which is in good condition. Its strategic location in the heart of Surabaya, make it accessible to go everywhere. Nearby Tunjungan Plaza for shopping, eating, etc (only 5 minutes walk). The staff are friendly and helpfull. The room is large, clean and nice. Its courtyard are well groomed and very beautiful. No sounds of traffic at all. We enjoyed the evening Dim Sum at the Chinese Restaurant with a reasonable price.

Why would you stay anywhere else in Surabaya

It's always great staying here (our third time)and this time was no exception. The place drips the history of colonialism and the independence struggle in Surabaya. Grand living in a wonderful location! And it's comfortable, the rooms are huge and the bathrooms totally unique. The service is terrific and dining upstairs in Sarkies' art deco booths is stepping bad in time (and the food's pretty good too).
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Go to the upstairs viewing area of House of Sampoerna before about 1 pm and then enjoy a cheap and pleasant lunch in the restaurant there.

Old world charm

a beautiful hotel that made it easy to image past glory days of the 1920s. we were awestruck by the beauty of the lights in the gardens when we arrived at night. the staff were very friendly and helpful. they arranged a surprise desert for us when they realised it was our honeymoon, and helped us out when my partner's wallet was stolen at the local train station. only down side was how deserted the hotel felt, but that improved in the day time when we realised there were other people staying there (it's just a big hotel). highly recommend sarkie's restaurant upstairs, they had the most amazing beef dish, it was the tenderest, most buttery beef i have ever tasted. if this restaurant was in sydney, you would not be able to get a table on a saturday night. spa treatment was great as well.

the usual comfortable stay at majapahit, the purpose was just a sleepover before the airport trip, breakfast awesome as usual and kind helpfull staff. i did not have time to use any of the facilities but i know they are great since this was my 5th stay at majapahit. i would choose this hotel over any of the other 5 star hotels in surabaya due to its colinial style and value for money.

amazing place to stay for a bit of pampering. nothing even slightly negative to report. we would recommend this hotel to anybody. comes with free in room wi fi. extremely helpful and friendly staff who know how to smile. free luggage storage. at very reasonable rates. huge rooms with all mod cons,and with powerful air conditioning. bathroom was superb. internal grounds were lovely. great hotel. incredible breakfast.
